NOTICE

Fixing Scale of Pound Fees and of Charges for Food at the Pounds on Jas. Dingle’s and W. M. Burton’s Farms, Frankley Road.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, December 28, 1865.

I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that Pound Fees according to the following scale shall be charged on all animals impounded in the Pounds on Jas. Dingle’s and on W. M. Burton’s farms, Frankley Road:

POUND FEES.

s. d.

For every horse, mare, gelding, colt, filly, foal, mule, ass, bull, ox, cow, steer, heifer, or calf—for the first four … 5 0

For every horse, mare, gelding, colt, filly, foal, mule, ass, bull, ox, cow, steer, heifer, or calf—for all above four … 2 6

For every ewe, wether, or lamb—for the first twenty … 0 4

For every ewe, wether, or lamb—for the next thirty … 0 3

For every ewe, wether, or lamb—for the next fifty … 0 2

For every ewe, wether, or lamb—for all over one hundred … 0 1

For every boar over the age of three months … 5 0

For every goat or pig … 2 0

And I hereby further notify that Charges for Food supplied to Cattle impounded in the said Pounds shall be made by the Poundkeeper according to the following scale:

CHARGES FOR FOOD.

s. d.

For every horse, mare, gelding, mule, ass, colt, filly, or foal … 4 0

For every bull, cow, ox, steer or heifer … 2 6

For every calf under six months old … 1 0

For every sheep or lamb … 0 2

For every goat … 0 3

For every boar sow or other pig … 1 0

The above Pound Fees to be paid for each day or part of a day during which the animal is kept in pound, and the Charges for Food to be paid for each day or part of a day during which the animal is supplied with food and water by the Poundkeeper. If the owner supply food and water (which he is at liberty to do) the charges for food are not to be made.

NOTICE

Appointing places for Exposing Cattle for Public Inspection.

New Plymouth, December 28, 1865.

IN exercise of that power vested in the Superintendent by “The Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” I do hereby declare that I have appointed the places below specified to be places at which cattle shall be exposed for public inspection in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance:—

The Stockyard on James Dingle’s Farm, Frankley Road.

The Stockyard on W. M. Burton’s Farm, Frankley Road.
