Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858.

NOTICE

Appointing another General Meeting for the Electors of the Seventh District.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, November 28, 1865.

WHEREAS at the place appointed for a General Meeting of the Electors of the Seventh District, under the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” on Wednesday, the 22nd instant, the number of electors necessary to form a quorum for the transaction of business were not present within one hour of the time appointed for such meeting: And whereas the said meeting was not formally adjourned by the electors then present: Now therefore I, Henry Robert Richmond, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby declare that all proceedings purporting to have been taken at the said meeting shall be deemed to have been invalid, and that I have appointed another General Meeting of the Electors for the same district to be held at the Taranaki Institute, New Plymouth, on Saturday, 2nd of December, 1865, at 4 p.m.

NOTICE

To applicants for Crown Grants in exchange for certificates under the Native Lands Act, 1862 or 1865.

General Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, November 1, 1865.

APPLICANTS for Crown Grants in exchange for Certificates under the Native Lands Act, 1862 or 1865, are requested to take notice that no Crown Grant will, in such case, be issued, unless a distinguishing number shall have been previously affixed to the section or block of land comprised in the certificate by the Commissioner of Crown or Waste Lands of the Province in which the land is situate.

It will be the duty of the applicant for a Crown Grant to ascertain that such number is affixed, as aforesaid, before applying for a grant.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

John Stephenson Smith, Esq.,
of New Plymouth, to be a Commissioner of Crown Lands, also a Commissioner under the New Zealand Company’s Land Claimants’ Ordinance, and a Commissioner under the Lost Land Orders Act.
