ELECTION NOTICE.
ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF GREY AND BELL.
IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, Edward Smyth Willcocks, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Grey and Bell, do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the Sixth day of June, 1861, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a Member of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the Court House, New Plymouth, on Thursday, the 20th day of June, 1861, and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Friday, the twenty-first day of June, 1861.

SETTLERS who desire to obtain the assistance of Soldiers, under the Regimental Order of the 24th May, published in the Gazette of June 7, are requested to send to the Garrison Office their names, the number of men they require, and the nature of the employment, when the form appended will be filled up by the military authorities.
