ROADS AND BRIDGES.

New Plymouth, 10th Sept., 1861.

WHEREAS, by the 6th Clause of the "Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858," it is enacted that general meetings of the electors for the several districts constituted under the Ordinance shall be convened in the month of May in every year, on such day, and at such place as shall be appointed by the Superintendent; and

whereas, by a resolution adopted by the Provincial Council the 5th instant, the provision contained in the words "in the month of May" in the above clause was suspended under the "Ordinances Suspension Ordinance, 1860," from the 30th April, 1861: Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent, do hereby appoint that the general meeting of the electors for the Town district under the said Ordinance shall be held at the Court House, Town of New Plymouth, on Wednesday, the 18th day of September, at 3 o’clock p.m.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Edward Smyth Willcocks, Esq., to be Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Taranaki.

This appointment took effect on the 22nd July, 1861.

Town of New Plymouth,
Omata,
Grey and Bell.

This appointment took effect on the 22nd July, 1861.
