THE following Ordinance passed by the
Superintendent and Provincial Council
of New Plymouth, Session 5, intituled
" The Slaughter House Ordinance, 1857,"
having been laid before the Governor, in
conformity with the provisions of the Con-
stitution Act, His Excellency has been
pleased to leave the same to its operation.

IT is notified for general information that
a Writ for the election of a Member of
the Provincial Council for the Grey and
Bell district, in the room of Henry Robert
Richmond resigned, having been issued in
accordance with the provisions of an Act to
grant a Representative Constitution to the
Colony of New Zealand, the Returning
Officer for the said district, has returned
the said Writ, with a certificate to the effect
that Robert Maxwell Sunley, of Bell dis-
trict, settler, has been duly elected to serve
as member of the Provincial Council for
the Grey and Bell district.

TENDERS will be received at this office
until noon on Saturday the 12th day
of December next for the execution of the
Printing for the Provincial Government for
the period of twelve months commencing
on the 1st January 1858. The Tenders
are to be sealed, and endorsed " Tender for
Printing," and shall state the Rates for the

New Plymouth, 25th November, 1857.
TENDERS will be received at this office
until noon on Saturday the 12th of
December next for supplying the under-
mentioned Firewood for the use of the Go-
vernment Offices—
15 loads split Tawa, 8 feet lengths
15 " " Kohekohe, 8 feet lengths
(the load being considered to contain 71
cubic feet)
The above must be delivered as required
before 31st March.

months commencing on the 1st of January
1858.
