NOTICE TO RATEPAYERS.

Superintendent's Office,
New Plymouth, 25th July, 1857.

IN pursuance of the power vested in me by the "Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1857," I, the Superintendent of the Province of New Plymouth, Do hereby appoint that the several Rates imposed under the authority of the said Ordinance on the lands within the districts and hereinafter particularised, shall be paid by two equal instalments to the Provincial Treasurer, at his office, on the 15th day of August, and the 14th day of November next.

First Sixpence per acre.
Second Sixpence per acre.
Third One Shilling per acre.
Fourth Sixpence per acre.
Fifth Ninepence per acre.

Eighth Threepence per acre.
Ninth One Shilling per acre.

IT is notified for general information that a Writ for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council in the room of ROBERT PARRIS, resigned, having been issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand, the Returning Officer for the said district has returned the said Writ with a certificate to the effect that GEORGE YATES LETHBRIDGE, of New Plymouth, Butcher, has been duly elected to serve as member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell district.
