NOTICE.
Superintendent\'s Office,
New Plymouth, 24th June, 1857.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the 48th clause of the "Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1857" I hereby notify that in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Provincial Council on the 23rd instant, I have reduced the minimum rate on all lands within the Eighth District from sixpence to threepence per acre.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Police are strictly enjoined to proceed against all persons who may endanger the Public safety by the chimneys of houses occupied by them being on fire; the Municipal Police Ordinance imposing a fine not exceeding Five Pounds in every such case.
