HARBOR DEPARTMENT.
IN consequence of the low value of potatoes, and the large quantity in the Province, the boat charge for shipping the same is reduced from this date to the 31st of December next to five shillings per ton.

REGISTER OFFICE.
THE Office for the Registration of Deeds and Instruments affecting Real Property is open daily (Sundays and Holidays excepted) from 10 o'clock A.M. to 4 o'clock P.M., at the Dwelling House of the Registrar, Devon and Dawson streets.
By the 17th clause of the Registration Ordinance it is enacted that Deeds, &c. not Registered are void as against subsequent Deeds registered.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Justices of the Peace for the Province of New Plymouth will be holden at the Resident Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth on the Tuesday the second day of September next, at twelve o'clock, noon, for the purpose of receiving applications for the transfer of Publican's Licenses.

THE undermentioned Goods abandoned for duty, will be sold by Public Auction at Mr Marshall's Bonded Warehouse, on Saturday the 6th day of September, 1856, at noon, unless cleared for home consumption or exportation previous to the above date :—

I HEREBY notify that the rural land below specified, situate in the Hua block being part of the lands commonly known as the Hua Village Site shall be open for purchase on the First day of October next and on such subsequent periodical days as are appointed for the sale of Rural land by the General Land Regulations of the Province. This Notice is published with the approval of the Provincial Council.
