Liquor to be drunk in any Licensed House
occupied by him or its appurtenances.
-
Provided that nothing in this Ordinance contained shall extend to prohibit
the sale or supply of any such liquor by any
person now or at any time hereafter holding
any such license as aforesaid to Travellers,
or to Persons boarding and lodging in any
House licensed for the sale of such liquor,
or to prohibit the purchase of any such
liquor from on board any vessel in the Road-
stead of New Plymouth, or the sale of any
such liquor for shipment on board any such
vessel. -
Any person contravening in any res-
pect any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall for every such offence forfeit and pay
a sum not exceeding £20. -
In the construction of this Ordinance
the words "sell" and "sale" shall in-
clude barter and every other mode of dis-
posal for valuable consideration. And no
person resident within 20 miles of the Town
of New Plymouth shall for the purposes of
this Ordinance be deemed a Traveller. -
This Ordinance shall come into oper-
ation on the 1st day of May 1856.

day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and fifty six.
