AN ORDINANCE
TO RESTRICT THE SALE ON SUNDAYS OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS.

Analysis.

Title.
Preamble.

  1. Sale of Intoxicating Liquors between 12 o'clock on Saturday night and 6 o'clock on Monday morning prohibited.
  2. Publicans not to permit intoxicating liquors to be drunk on their premises between the said hours.
  3. Exception in favor of Travellers and Lodgers at Public Houses.
  4. Penalty on contravention.
  5. Interpretation of terms.
  6. Commencement of Operation.

AN ORDINANCE to restrict the Sale on Sundays of intoxicating Liquors.

Whereas it is expedient to restrict the Sale on Sundays of intoxicating Liquors.

Be it therefore enacted by the Superintendent of the Province of New Plymouth with the Advice and Consent of the Provincial Council thereof as follows:β€”

  1. No Person shall between the hours of Twelve o'clock on Saturday nights and Six o'clock on Monday mornings sell any fermented or spirituous liquor, or deliver upon sale any such liquor.

  2. No Person now or at any time hereafter holding a License for the sale of fermented and spirituous liquors, or for the sale of fermented liquors only, shall between the said hours supply or suffer any such
