Provincial Appropriation Ordinance




Advice and Consent of the Provincial Council thereof:—

  1. That for defraying the charge of the Provincial Government of the said Province for the period of six calendar months, commencing on the 1st day of April, 1854, and ending on the 30th day of September in the same year, there may be issued and applied out of the General Revenue of the said Province for the several purposes and services specified in the Schedule to this Ordinance, such sums of money as together with the sums expended, or to be expended, for the same or the like purposes and services under the authority of the two Ordinances hereinafter recited or referred to, will make up the annual amount specified for such purposes and services respectively in the Schedule to this Ordinance, and amounting in the whole to the sum of Four thousand and sixteen pounds and six shillings. Provided always that the several services specified in the said Schedule under the head “Chargeable on Land Fund” shall not be provided for otherwise than out of the proceeds and profits of and attending the sale, letting, or other alienation of the Waste Lands of the Crown.

  2. That for defraying the Salary of the Superintendent from the 16th day of July, 1853, to the 30th day of September in the same year there may be issued and applied out of the General Revenue of the said Province the sum of Fifty one pounds seven shillings and fourpence.

  3. The Treasurer of the Province of New Plymouth shall by Warrant direct; and such Treasurer shall in his accounts be allowed credit for all sums paid by him in pursuance of such Warrants, and the receipts of the persons to whom such sums shall have been given, shall be to him a full discharge of the sum or sums for which such receipts shall have been given, and the amounts thereof shall be passed to his credit in account accordingly.
