POLICE REGULATIONS.
In pursuance of the powers in me vested in that behalf, I, William Wood, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Southland, do hereby make the following regulations respecting the training, arms and accoutrements; clothing and equipment of the Police Force of the Province of Southland, for maintaining the discipline and efficiency thereof, in addition to the regulations made and published on the eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
That is to say:—

The first section of the regulations of the eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, is hereby revoked.

The Superintendent shall, by warrant under his hand, appoint a fit and proper person to be Inspector of such Police Force, who shall be charged and invested with the general control and management of the Police Force.

The whole of the regulations of the eighteenth day of November aforesaid shall be read and construed as if the term “Inspector” had been used throughout in lieu of the term Commissioner.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Southland, this twenty-third day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
