Principal Polling Place for the District, and all or any of such Polling Places at any time to abolish, and to appoint other Polling Places in lieu thereof:
And whereas by another Act of the General Assembly, intituled "The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that, subject to certain provisions therein contained, every Election of the Superintendent or of a Member of the Provincial Council of a Province shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," aforesaid, and all the provisions of the said lastmentioned Act shall apply to the Elections of Members of Provincial Councils:
Now know ye, that I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the said Acts, do hereby appoint the following places to be Polling Places for the Districts hereinafter specified for the Election of Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland, namely:—
Invercargill—
The Court House, Invercargill.
Riverton—
The Court House, Riverton.
Campbelltown—
The Court House, Campbelltown.
Waihopai—
The Court House, Invercargill.
Longwood—
The School House, South Riverton.
Waikivi—
The House of Mr Duncan McArthur.
Roslyn—
The School House, Mavis Bush.
Aparima—
The School House, Gummie’s Bush; and the House of Mr Matthew Scott, Outautau.
Waianiwa—
The School House, Waianiwa; and the House of Messrs. Sutton, Wright’s Bush.
New River—
The School House, Wallacetown; and the Police Station, Winton.
Oteramika—
The Police Station, Daere.
Oreti—
The Police Station, Lowther; and the House of Mr George Gunn, Run No. 119a.
Waiau—
The House of Mr Aylmer, Run No. 166; and the House of Mr
John Howell, Wrey’s Bush,
Run No. 153.
And I do further appoint the Polling Places hereinafter specified to be the Principal Polling Places for such Districts, namely:—
