Fees and Charges for Pound

For each ram above the age
of nine months . . . . . . . 1 0

For each ewe, wether, or lamb,
for the first twenty . . . . . 0 4

all others above one hundred . . 0 1

The above Fees to be paid for each day,
or part of a day, during which the animal
is kept in pound.

Charges for Food:

For every horse, mare, gelding,
mule, ass, colt, filly, or
foal . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 0

For every bull, cow, ox, steer
or heifer . . . . . . . . . . . 5 0

For every calf, sheep, lamb,
goat, boar, sow, or other
pig . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3 0

The above charges to be paid for each
day, or part of a day, during which the
animal is supplied with food and water by
the Poundkeeper; but the owner may
supply food and water, in which case
the charges are not to be made.

succession to J. T. Petrie, resigned.

INVERCARGILL PUBLIC POUND.

September 3, 1864.

IMPOUNDED, 1 Red bullock, white
head, white spot on top of shoulder,
white belly, branded on off rump but not
distinct.

1 Red bullock, a little white on both
flanks, cock horns, branded off rump but
not distinct.

If not claimed to be sold at the Pound,
here on the tenth day of October next,
at 12 o'clock noon.

SOUTHLAND HOSPITAL.

Rules for the Admission of Patients and

the General Management of the
Provincial Hospital.

Southland, 14th Sept., 1864.

IT is hereby notified that the portion of
ground mentioned below and pub-
lished in the Southland Provincial Go-
vernment Gazette, No. 18, 20th May,
1864, shall cease to be a quarantine
ground for sheep on and after the
twentieth inst.

Titipua Quarantine ground, bounded
on the west by a line drawn north in
continuation of the east boundary of
Campbelltown Hundred to cut the
Titipua stream; North by the Titipua
stream to a point at a distance of two
miles from thence; on the east by a
right line running from the said point
due south; south by a line drawn east
and west so as to include 2000 acres.

HEREBY authorise the following
member of the Southland Constabu-
lary, to sue and recover penalties under
the Provisions of clause 5, “Police Ordi-
nance, 1862.”

  1. Applications for Admission must
    come through the Superintendent's Office,
    and the entertaining of such Applica-
    tions will rest with the Medical Staff of
    the Hospital.

  2. Persons receiving medical advice or
    treatment at the Hospital shall pay
    £1 10s. per week as in-door patients and
    15s. per week as out-door patients.

  3. None shall receive gratuitous medi-
    cal aid at the Hospital, or admission there-
    in, unless they can produce satisfactory evi-
    dence of their inability to pay for medical
    advice.

  4. Seamen shall be admitted, provided
    masters of vessels and all others respon-
    sible for such payments shall enter into
    an agreement to pay charges for treat-
    ment for such person while in the
    hospital, or deposit such sum as the
    Surgeon may consider will cover the ex-
    pense incurred, during the probable dura-
    tion of the illness of such seaman; and
    such masters of vessels and others as
    above shall, in event of recovery being
    doubtful, deposit in the hands of the
    surgeon a sum of £4, to defray funeral
    expenses, in the event of death.

  5. Patients for out-door or in-door
    treatment are to apply at the Hospital
    on Mondays and Thursdays, between the
    hours of 10 o'clock a.m., and 12 noon.
