PROCLAMATION
By JAMES A. R. MENZIES, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to delegate to the Superintendent of the Province of Southland certain powers under the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” and whereas by proclamations dated on the 10th and 26th days December, 1861, respectively, published in the Southland Provincial Government Gazette it is amongst other things declared that the Inspector of Cattle in the Province of Southland, under the provisions of the said Act, shall not be authorised to grant a certificate to land in the Province of Southland cattle coming from Tasmania; and whereas it is expedient to revoke this provision and make other provision in lieu thereof ;
Now, therefore, I, the said Superintendent, in virtue of the power in me vested, do hereby proclaim that the Inspector of Cattle is hereby authorised to grant certificates to land in the Province of Southland, cattle coming from Tasmania; always provided that such cattle shall be free from the disease called Pleuro-pneumonia, and that the owner or person in charge of such cattle shall have previously given to such Inspector satisfactory proof that the cattle sought to be landed were bred in Tasmania; or were depastured in Tasmania for six consecutive months prior to their last embarkation from thence.

PROCLAMATION
By JAMES A. R. MENZIES, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
WHEREAS by the seventh section of the “Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1862,” it is provided that the said Ordinance shall come into operation in any town or part thereof, within the Province of Southland, that shall be named or defined, and upon such day as shall be named by the Superintendent when notifying the same: and whereas by a proclamation from under my hand, and dated the 26th day of March, 1862, it was declared that the said Ordinance should come into operation within a part of the Town of Invercargill, defined in the said proclamation, and on a day named therein: and whereas it is expedient to alter the limits so defined, and extend the operation of the said Ordinance;
Now, therefore, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim said declare that the said Ordinance shall come into operation in that part of the Town of Invercargill which is bounded on the south by Tweed-street; on the east by part of Ness-street, and by Doon-street; on the north and west by Gala-street, Leven Street, the Puni Creek, from the lowest bridge to the Estuary, and the Estuary of the Waihopai, upon the 1st day of May, 1863.
