PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE

PROCLAMATION

By His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, C.B., Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

Whereas by a proclamation, under my hand and dated this sixth day of April, 1862, the boundaries of the Otautau and Moa School districts were set forth and declared; and whereas it is expedient to abolish the same and appoint other boundaries for the said School Districts:

Now therefore, I the said Superintendent, in pursuance of the power vested in me in that behalf, and in conformity with the provisions of section 6 of the “Education Ordinance, No. 2, 1857,” do hereby abolish the boundaries of the said School Districts respectively, and declare that the boundaries set forth in the schedule herein under written, shall be the boundaries of the said School Districts respectively.

Given under my hand this eighteenth day of March, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

SCHEDULE

Otautau School District, No. 9.

Bounded on the North by the Waitotara Block No. 2, to the Mavie Bridge; thence southwards along the road lines to the boundary of Block LXXI, of the Hundred of Orepuki; thence by a right line to the south boundary of Block LXI, of the Hundred of Invercargill; thence eastward along the southern boundary of Block LXI and Block LXIII of the Hundred of Invercargill; thence by a line bearing south to the easternmost corner of Block LXII of the Hundred of Invercargill; thence northward along the eastern boundary of Block LXII, to the north-east corner thereof; thence by a line bearing west to the Waitotara Block No. 1, and northwards by the western boundary of the said No. 1, Block LXI, and Block LXII of the 2000 acre block.

Moa School District, No. 10.

Bounded on the North by the New River; thence by the eastern boundary of the Hundred of Invercargill to the north boundary of Block LXI of the 2000 acre block; thence eastward by the north boundary of Block LXI and Block LXIII of the Hundred of Invercargill; thence by a line bearing south to the southernmost corner of Block LXII of the Hundred of Invercargill; thence westward along the southern boundary of the said Block LXII, to the westernmost corner thereof; thence by a line bearing north to the New River; thence by the course of the said River to the point of commencement.
