IT is hereby notified that WILLIAM FRANCIS
TANNOCK, Esquire, has been appointed
Secretary to the Education Committee and
Inspector of Schools in the Province of South-
land.

Deputy Superintendent, in pursuance of the
powers vested in the Superintendent by a
said recited Ordinance, do hereby notify and
said Ferry to be established between this, Jetty at
Riverton, on one side of the River Aparima,
and Joe’s Point and Dallas’ Point on the other
side of the said River; and I do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the said Ferry so to be
erected is established accordingly, shall be
a Public Ferry within the meaning of the
said recited Ordinance; and shall be called the
“Aparima Ferry.”

of June, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-two.

NOTICE.
“APARIMA FERRY.”
BY virtue of the powers vested in the Su-
perintendent by the “Ferries Ordinance,
1862,” I, the Deputy-Superintendent of the
Province of Southland, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, do hereby
graciously that the authorised Fares charge-
able on the “Aparima Ferry” for persons,
animals, carriages, and goods conveyed across
the same, are the following, viz. :—
From Sunrise till One Hour after Sunset.
For each Person, Male or Female ... 0 6
Horse, Mule, or Ass ... 1 0
Head of Great Cattle ... 0 6
Sheep ... 0 1
Cart, Dray or Carriage ... 2 6
Goods at the rate of 3d per cwt.
From one hour after Sunset till Sunrise,
the above Fares and Freights, and one-half
more, shall be charged.
