PROCLAMATION.
Main District Roads—Makarewa Road District.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of Otago.
WHEREAS by section 171 of the Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, it is provided that upon the application of the Board of any district, the Superintendent may from time to time, if he shall seem fit so to do, lay Proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads—whether within or upon the boundary of such district—shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Board of the Makarewa Road District have applied to have the road specified in the schedule hereto proclaimed and appointed a main district road:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, by virtue and in exercise of the power vested in me by the said section, proclaim and appoint the road specified in the schedule hereto to be a main district road in the Makarewa Road District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, in the said Province this 31st day of October, 1876.

SCHEDULE.
All that road line forming the south boundary of sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19, block IV., Invercargill Hundred, a distance of 121.30 links; also the same road continued due east to the south-east corner of section 2 of 20 block IV., aforesaid, a distance of 6,280 links, said road being 100 links wide throughout.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence on or before the 27th day of November, 1876.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 26th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

SCHEDULE.
John Thompson, for 5 acres and 32 poles of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, being section 8, block IV., Waipori District.
INVERCARGILL DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.
ALTERATION of BYE-LAW.
NOTICE is hereby given that Bye-law No. 5 has been altered so to read as follows:—“Turning loose any horses, cattle, pigs, or goats upon any road, or allowing any horses, cattle, pigs, or goats to wander thereon.”
The common seal of the District Board and the signatories of the Invercargill Road District was hereby affixed in the presence of

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1874,” and “The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and passed at a meeting of the Invercargill Road Board held in the Invercargill Road District on...
APPOINTMENT OF FIRST ELECTION DAY, Etc.
UNDER and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” and the “Otago Roads Amendment Ordinance, 1872,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and appoint Wednesday, the 8th day of November next, at noon, to be the day for holding the first election of members of the District Board of the Tuapeka Road District, and Edgar Hall Carew, R.M., Lawrence, to be the person by and before whom such election shall take place.
I proclaim and appoint the Courthouse, Lawrence, to be the polling place for the said Lawrence Road District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this 31st day of October, 1876.

I proclaim and appoint the Court-house, Waitahuna, to be the polling place for the said Waitahuna Road District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this 31st day of October, 1876.
