PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
In conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Goldfields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 6th day of November, 1876.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Lawrence.

SCHEDULE
Robert Grieve and Thomas Hyde, on behalf of the Gabriels Gully Crushing Company, for 10 acres of land more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, being Section 55, Block XVIII, and Section 9, Block XIX, Tuapeka East District.
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by Section 2 of the “Otago Municipal Corporation Ordinances Amendment Ordinance, 1866,” it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, by proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, from time to time to alter in any way he may think fit the boundaries of any municipality at any time proclaimed under the Ordinances recited in the said Ordinance.
Now, therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the said Ordinance, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint that the boundaries of the municipality of South Dunedin be altered, and that all that area of land described in the Schedule hereunto annexed be added to the municipality of South Dunedin.
SCHEDULE
All that parcel of land, in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estimation Sixty-eight (68) acres more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Western side of the Anderson’s Bay Road, in the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 5 and 6, Block VII, town district; and proceeding in a north-easterly direction along the prolongation of the said boundary line two thousand six hundred and thirty (2630) links to the proposed sea line of reclamation; thence in a south-easterly direction along the proposed sea line of reclamation two thousand five hundred

APPOINTMENT OF FIRST ELECTION DAY, ETC.
Under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” and the “Otago Roads Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1872,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and appoint Saturday, the 11th day of November next, at noon, to be the day for holding the first election of members of the District Board of the Dunback Road District, and John McKenzie, of Shag Valley, to be the person by and before whom such election shall take place, and I proclaim and appoint the School-house, Dunback, and Mr. John Deems’ Hotel, Waihemo, to be the polling places for the said Dunback Road District.
