LEASE OF COAL MINE.

AUCTION, WEDNESDAY, 1ST NOVEMBER, 1876.

NOTICE is hereby given that the seven years’ lease of five acres, being part of Section 17, Block 6, Chatton District, will be offered for sale between the applicants (as per sale list,) by auction by Mr R. B. Martin, for Coal Mining purposes, at Barr’s Hall, Balclutha, on Wednesday, the first day of November, 1876, at the upset price of £5 per annum, and subject to the following conditions, viz:—That the Licensee shall sell the coal at four shillings and sixpence per ton, seven shillings and sixpence for two horse loads, and nine shillings for three horse loads.

GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.

TAPANUI AND KELSO TOWNSHIPS.

At the Town Hall, Tapanui,

On

TUESDAY, the 7th of NOVEMBER, 1876.

THE following Sections in the Township of Tapanui will be offered for sale by public auction by Mr. R. B. Martin, at the Town Hall, Tapanui, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November next, immediately after the sale of Block IX, Glenkenich, advertised for that date, front quarter-acre sections to be sold at an upset price of £8, and back sections at £5 each. Except section 2, Block XXII, which will be offered at the upset price of £2. Sections over the quarter-acre will be sold at rates to be stated by the Auctioneer:—

Sections 1 to 16, Block XVII; 1 to 5, XVIII; 1 to 16, XIX, 1, 2, XX; 1, 2, XXI; 1, 2, 3, XXII.

Valuations in addition to price of sections:

Sections 12, Block XVII, saw-mill, house, &c., £950;
Section 2, Block XXII, dam, &c., £150;
Sections 2 and 3, Block XIX, house and fencing, £185.

Township of Kelso:—

At same time and place Sections in the Township of Kelso as under:—2 to 28, 34 to 44, 46 to 49, and 53 to 57, B. I; 2 to 7, B. II; 2 to 9, 11 to 19, B. III; 1 to 16, B. IV; 1 to 9, 11 to 13, B. V; 1 to 4, B. VI; 4 to 11, 14 to 26, B. IX; 3 to 11, 13 to 21, 23 to 25, B. X; 2 to 12, 16 to 22, 24 to 34, B. XI; 6 to 10, 16 to 28, 22 to 28, B. XII.

CROWN GRANTS for the land, and in favour of the persons after-mentioned, are now ready for delivery, and attention is directed to the following clause of the “Crown Grants Act, 1866”:—

Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands, or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall have been so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situated that such grants are ready for delivery.
