PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 9th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Goldfields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 27th day of October, 1876.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Cromwell.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 29th day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

SCHEDULE.
James Marshall, on behalf of the Reliance Quartz Mining Company, for 10 acres of land more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated adjoining Cromwell Quartz Mining Company’s ground on its west end and the ground already held by the applicants on its south side, being Section 17, Block III, Wakefield.

APPOINTMENT OF FIRST ELECTION DAY, ETC.
UNDER and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” and the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1872,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and appoint Saturday, the 11th day of November next, at noon, to be the day for holding the first election of members of the District Board of the Dunback Road District, and John McKenzie, of Shag Valley, to be the person by and before whom such election shall take place, and I proclaim and appoint the School-house, Dunback, and Mr. John Deems’ Hotel, Waihemo, to be the polling places for the said Dunback Road District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this 17th day of October, 1876.
