[The following portion of a notice which appeared on page 463 of the Provincial Government Gazette, of 1875, is republished in consequence of 8,036 acres having been printed instead of 18,036 acres as below.]
NOTICE
Of certain lands in the Province of Otago having been reserved as endowments for educational institutions.
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of section 16 of the "Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be set apart and reserved as endowments for educational institutions; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described reserves for endowments for educational institutions (that is to say):
All that piece or parcel of land known as run 214, Eyre District, containing 18,036 acres; bounded on the north by north boundary of run 214, 27,600 links; on the north-west by the north-west boundary of run 214—44,000 links, 6000 links, and 6000 links; on the south by the Eyre River; on the south-east by sheep reserve, Town of Athol, section 1, and pre-emptive right, 8300 links; again on the south by pre-emptive right, 6000 links; again on the north-west by pre-emptive right 4500 links, 1500 links and 3,700 links; again on the south by the Mataura River; again on the north by a public road, 3400 links; again on the south-east by section 15, 3349 links, 451 links, 8000 links; on the south-west by section 10, 3357 links; on the east by the Mataura River, 351 chains; again on the north by deferred payment block, 3300 links, and on the east by deferred payment block, 15,000 links, excepting out of the land herein described the purchased sections 11, 12, 13, 14 and 16 Eyre District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Gold Mining Lease, number 459c, for Section 14, Block III, Wakefield District, issued in favor of John Parry and David Watkins, for the Great Britain Quartz Mining Company, has been cancelled by the Government, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights, &c.

NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that an application under the 47th, &c. sections of the "Otago Waste Land Act, 1872," and amendments, in Sections 6, 8, 21, and 25, Block IV, Teviot, has been received from Samuel Crossan, and duly recorded, and that Tuesday, the 17th day of October, 1876, at the Court House, Roxburgh, is the day and place appointed for deciding such application (if unopposed), and notifying objections (if any), which may have been lodged.
