Road Works and Rate Notices




TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 3rd October, 1876, for Flushing Race, Contract No. 18, Mount Ida Water Works. Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Naseby. Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 18, Mount Ida Water Works.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

6th.—Works on road to Double Hill. Mr. Martin will meet contractors at foot of Mr. Dodd’s road, at 12 noon on Friday, October 13th, and shew the work.

Tenders for the above to be lodged at the Board’s Office by noon on Monday, October 16th.

WAIKOUAITI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE.—The following is published for general information:—“Bye-Law for the Waikouaiti Road Board District.—That whereas the roads, bridges, and culverts in the Waikouaiti Road District are not calculated to carry a greater weight than thirty cwt. (say 30 cwt.), it is hereby enacted that no dray or wagon shall convey a heavier load than thirty hundredweight along any road under the control of the above Board under a penalty not exceeding Twenty Pounds, to be recovered in the ordinary way.”

SEASIDE ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE.

THE SEASIDE ROAD BOARD intend at their Meeting on the 24th October, 1876, to Levy a General Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the Net Annual Value of Property within the District for the year ending 30th June, 1877.
The Rate Book may be seen at the Brighton Post Office.

KAIKORAI ROAD DISTRICT.

RATEPAYERS are hereby notified that the Kaikorai Road Board made, at their last meeting on August 29th, a General Rate of One Shilling in the Pound in both subdivisions for the year ending June 30th, 1877.
Objections, if any, must be made in writing and lodged with the Clerk on or before Saturday, September 30th, at noon, when the Board will meet to determine such objections.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Station, Lawrence. Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 1088.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Sutherland’s Catlin’s River Hotel. Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 1131.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Waikouaiti. Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 1132.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BLUESKIN ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS are invited by the Blueskin Road Board for the following works:—

1st.—Building Culvert in Harbour Terrace, Mansfield Township. Mr. Lean will meet Contractors on the ground at 12 noon on Friday, October 13th.

2nd.—Widening about 14 chains of the Purakanui Road; clearing slips and falling about 3 chains bush. Mr. Andrews will be at Mr. Horn’s at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9th, and shew the work and specifications.

3rd.—About 20 chains Formation on Mopanui road. Contractors meeting at Mr. McKessar’s at 12 noon, on October 9th, will be shewn the work.

4th.—Repairing road from Mr. H. Clark’s and forming about 12 chains of same. Contractors to meet at Mr. Clark’s at 2 p.m. on October 9th.

5th.—Formation on the Round Hill Road and construction of Footbridge over the Waitati River. Contractors meeting at the Round Hill at 2 p.m. on October 11th will be shewn the work.

SUBURBAN ROAD DISTRICT.

RATEPAYERS are hereby notified that the Suburban Road Board intends at its next meeting on Wednesday, September 27th, to levy a general rate of one shilling in the pound on the net annual value of property within the district for the year ending June 30th, 1877.
The Rate Roll lies for inspection at my house, where it can be seen daily until Wednesday, 27th instant.
