provisions of the Ordinance entitled “An Ordinance to amend the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province of Otago, to appoint a day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of such Municipality. And whereas the town of North Invercargill has been proclaimed a municipality under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and it is expedient to appoint a day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of the said municipality of North Invercargill:
Now, therefore, I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have appointed, and do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 26th day of September, 1876, as and to be the day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of the municipality of North Invercargill.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this 19th day of September, 1876.

WARRANT
Appointing an Officer to preside at the First Elections to be held under the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865, for the Incorporated Town of North Invercargill, in the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Town of North Invercargill has been incorporated under the provisions of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865.” And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is amongst other things enacted that where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first elections under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the Superintendent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint some fit and proper person to preside at each such election: Now, therefore I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint

to preside at the first elections of Mayor, Councillors, and auditors to be held under the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” for the Incorporated Town of North Invercargill, in the Province of Otago.

NOTICE
Of day and place of Nomination of Candidates for the Office of Mayor of the Incorporated Town of North Invercargill.
WHEREAS, George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” has, by warrant under his hand, appointed me the undersigned, Magnus Flaus, to be the person to give public notice, as by law required, of the place, day, and hour for the nomination of candidates for election to the office of Mayor, at the first election of Mayor for the Incorporated Town of North Invercargill, under the said Ordinance, and to attend on the day of the nomination of candidates for such office at such first election, and to preside, do, and perform at such first election all the acts by the said Ordinance required or directed to be done by the Mayor of the said incorporated town of North Invercargill, at the election of Mayor:
Now, therefore I, the said Magnus Flaus, notify that Tuesday, the 26th day of September, 1876, at noon, at the residence of Mr. John Garmson, in the said incorporated town of North Invercargill, have been appointed as the day, hour, and place for the nomination of candidates for election to the office of Mayor of the said incorporated town of North Invercargill, at the ensuing election; and I do hereby give notice that I shall attend at the said place, and at the day and time hereinbefore mentioned, and shall then cause to be publicly opened and read all such nominations of candidates for election to the office of Mayor to the said incorporated town, as shall be in due form, and shall have been lodged with William Walker, the person appointed by His Honor the Deputy-Superintendent to act as Town Clerk at such election, at his office, before noon, of the said twenty-fifth day of September, 1876.
