Now, therefore I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” and of all other powers in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint
Mr. Thomas Sloan
to perform the acts required to be done by the Council in the revision of the Citizens’ List for the Town of Avenal, and hearing and determining the claims of the Citizens thereof to be inserted in such list, and the objections of such Citizens to any other Citizen having his name retained thereon.
: As witness my hand this first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor J. Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by section 2 of the “Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, as may become necessary, to make regulations as to any matter or thing, which in any matter relates to the management and protection of salmon and trout in this Colony, or to the fishing for or taking trout or salmon: And whereas the powers vested in the Governor under the said Act have been delegated to James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago:
Now, therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare as follows: that is to say—
1st. The period from 1st October, 1876, to 15th April, 1877, shall be an open season for brown trout fishing by rod and line only, in the following streams, viz.: Kakanui River, Island Stream, Shag River, Waikouaiti River, Waitati River, Silver Stream, Fulton’s Creek, Boat Harbour Creek, Lee Stream, and Deep Stream, Puerua, Kaihiku, Waiwera, Kuriwao.
2nd. The ensuing period from 1st November, 1876, to 31st January, 1877, shall be an open season for brown trout fishing by rod and line only, in the Water of Leith.
3rd. No person shall be allowed to fish for brown trout by rod and line as aforesaid without first obtaining a license so to do under the hand of the Provincial Treasurer of Otago, and for every such license there shall be paid the sum of 4s.
Given under my hand at Wellington on the 29th day of August, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, on the first day of September, 1876.

Otago Goldfield were made by His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, under the delegated authority of His Excellency the Governor; and whereas it is expedient to amend the preliminary regulations then published:
Now therefore His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, and by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the province in this behalf, doth hereby order that the said Regulations of the 8th day of August, 1874, shall from and after the date hereof be amended by the addition of a regulation to be number two of number VII. of the preliminary regulations headed “Frontage Claims,” as follows:—
“Regulation VII., Frontage Claims.
a.—Ocean Beach Claims.
Ocean Beach claims shall not exceed a frontage of 300 feet to the open sea by a depth from high to low water-mark.
