will be charged, but the minimum stock on which assessment will be charged shall not be less than 250 sheep.

Lease to commence from the 10th day of April, 1876, and expires on the 9th day of April, 1886, or to determine on twelve months' notice from the Commissioner of Crown Lands to the Lessee to that effect, without liability on the part of Government or Waste Lands Board for compensation for improvement. The right to take a road five chains broad, for stock travelling, is retained by Government. No previous Lessee on purchasing the Lease to be entitled to exercise a pre-emptive right to purchase land on Run. Improvements enhancing the value of the Run made by Lessee to be paid by the incoming tenant before obtaining possession. A deposit of one-tenth of the purchase-money shall be paid on fall of the hammer, and the balance within a month. The annual assessment will be payable on the first day of October of each year, excepting the first period from the 10th day of April to the 1st day of October, 1876, when the proportion, namely £3 10s., will be payable at auction.

WAIPORI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waipori Road Board intend to levy a General Rate of One Shilling (1s.) in the Pound on all property within the jurisdiction of the Board on Saturday the 2nd September, 1876, for the year ending June, 1877. A statement of the proposed rate can now be inspected at the Office of the Board. Objections (if any) must be sent to me in writing on or before the 30th August, 1876.

NOTICE.

THE Balance-Sheet and Statements of Account for the year ending June the 30th, 1876, is open for inspection at the house of the undersigned. The Annual Meeting of the Board will be held in the house of Mr. W. Allan, Portobello Road, on Wednesday, the 16th instant, at 12 o'clock.

KAIKORAI ROAD DISTRICT.

RATEPAYERS are hereby notified that the Kaikoria Road Board intend, at their next meeting on Tuesday, August 29th, to levy a General Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the net annual value of property within the district. The Rate Roll is open for the inspection of ratepayers at the Board’s Office, Green Island, till the above date.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, John Hamilton and Charles Payne Raines, of Invercargill, heretofore carrying on business as grocers and bakers, under the firm of Hamilton and Raines, was on the fifth day of July, 1876, Dissolved by mutual consent, and that all debts owing to the said partnership are to be received by the said John Hamilton, who will pay all the debts due by the said late firm.

Mr. Short will show maps of the land and assist purchasers or selectors in making the necessary applications.

LOST, a Fixed Deposit Receipt on the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, Oamaru. Dated 25th November, 1875, for six months, No. 2-19, for Thirty-five pounds sterling. Anyone returning same to Colonial Bank of New Zealand, Oamaru, will be rewarded.
