Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act and of every other power and authority me enabling do by this behalf proclaim and give notice the Lawndale subdivision of the Otago District to be open for business between the hours of ten a.m. and sunset as and from the date of this Proclamation to the 31st day of October next.

And I hereby notify that every Crown Grant or Licence to occupy Crown land within the said subdivision of Lawndale shall be paid to the Provincial Treasurer at the office of the Provincial Secretary at Dunedin.

Given under my hand and issued under the Seal of the Province of Otago this 20th day of June, 1876.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION

In conformity to the 21st section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under the Act, and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of Leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, I do hereby notify that it is intended to grant a lease of the particulars specified in the annexed Schedule unless valid objections against granting such lease shall be lodged in writing with the Warden at Queenstown on or before the 30th day of June 1876.

Objections to the granting of such lease stating the grounds of objection must be made in writing addressed to the Warden at Queenstown on or before the aforesaid day.

Given under my hand at Dunedin this 19th day of June, 1876.

SCHEDULE

Hugh Joseph Finn, on behalf of Hugh Joseph Finn and others, 8 acres of land more or less as the same are delineated by a survey found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants situated on the range overlooking the Shotover and Coal Creek between Bush and Scanlan’s Sections.


NOTICE

Whereas it is intended to stop up the hereunder written, and is delineated on the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the Tuapeka District Road Board Lands Ordinance 1864 Session XXI copy of which map or plan so far as it relates to the particular road intended to be stopped up is deposited in the Road Board Office specified in the Schedule mentioned immediately after the description of the respective road intended to be stopped up in the North Tuapeka Road District. Now therefore I, James Macandrew Superintendent of the Province of Otago by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the “Tuapeka District Roads Lands Ordinance 1864 Session No XXI” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of that road are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well grounded objections to such stopping up to me at my office in Dunedin within sixty days from the first publication hereof otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed the following constables to be Inspectors of slaughter-houses and of cattle intended for slaughter, each for the district mentioned after his name.

NOTICE

Thursday the 15th June being the Presbyterian fast day in Dunedin the Provincial Government Offices will not be opened.


Under the Otago Land Act 1874 the Wardens’ offices at Lawrence, Clyde, Queenstown, Naseby, St Bathans and the Land Office Invercargill will be closed on that day.


ENQUIRIES

Enquiries are made at this office for Elizabeth Heathorn who left London for Otago in ship Rifleman in July 1867. Any person who can give information regarding her will please to communicate with me.
