PORTOBELLO ROAD DISTRICT.

FRESH TENDERS will be received for Culvert Cutting and Embankment on road between the properties of Messrs. Anderson and Henderson; also Building Culvert on Mr. Clewwater's Road. Mr. William Anderson will show the work on Wednesday, the 3rd of May, at 1 o'clock. Tenders to be accompanied by 5 per cent. on the amount of tender, and to be in not later than Saturday, the 6th of May prox., at 12 o'clock.

NOTICE.

PARTIES desirous of Working Quarries on the Beach Road, Lower Harbor, must first obtain from the above Board a Lease of the same; and notice is hereby given that legal proceedings will be taken against any person who may remove stone or other material from said road line, or place any obstruction thereon, without first obtaining the permission of the Board.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.

SESSION, 1876.

THE Matriculation Examination and the preliminary examination in general education for Students in Medicine will take place on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd May, commencing each day at 9 a.m. Candidates intending to present themselves for examination must give in their names to the Registrar on or before the 28th April, and also state in what optional subjects they elect to be examined. The classes will be opened on Thursday, the 4th of May. Further particulars may be obtained on application.
