UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.

SESSION, 1876.

THE Matriculation Examination and the preliminary examination in general education for Students in Medicine will take place on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd May, commencing each day at 9 a.m.

Candidates intending to present themselves for examination must give in their names to the Registrar on or before the 28th April, and also state in what optional subjects they elect to be examined.

The classes will be opened on Thursday, the 4th of May.

Further particulars may be obtained on application.

DUNEDIN DISTRICT SCHOOLS.

APPLICATIONS, accompanied with testimonials, will be received by the Dunedin School Committee until Monday, 24th instant, for a HEAD MASTER for the Middle District School.

APPLICATION FOR AN AUCTIONEERS’ LICENSE.

A MEETING will be held in the Government Offices at noon, on Thursday, 27th ultimo, 1876, to consider the application of Henry E. Osborne, now residing at Invercargill, for an Auctioneer’s License.

IMPOUNDED on the 31st March, 1876, by Messrs. Handyside and Roberts, Black Stone Hill, Lauder Station.

I Strawberry Steer, with no visible brands.
I Red and White Steer, with no visible brands.

For which 4s. per head is claimed driving expenses; and in default of the above-named cattle being released they will be sold on Friday, the 28th day of April, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon, at the Leaning Rock, Clyde Pound.

Red and White Steer, branded like -B near rump hole in near ear.

Owner unknown, for trespassing on Crown lands, for which 7s. 6d. mustering and driving expenses are claimed; and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold in the Public Pound at Hayes Lake, on Friday, the 28th day of April, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon.

1 red Cow, with white belly, branded JO near rump, near horn grown downwards and broken.

Owner unknown. For trespassing in the public streets. In default of being released the above cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on Friday, the 28th day of April, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon.

FRIDAY, 21ST APRIL, NOON.

Two Horses, a Mare and a Filly will be sold at the Lawrence Pound.

A Bullock and a Steer will be sold at Shotover Pound.

A Mare will be sold at Hampden Pound.

STRAYED into my paddock, a strawberry Cow, branded like VC on rump. Also red-and-white Cow, no visible brands. Also brown Bullock, branded like ⊕ on rump, and both ears slit.

If the above are not claimed within one month from the date of this notice they will be sold to defray expenses.
