NOTIFICATION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A POUND KNOWN AS TOKOMAIRIRO POUND.
NOTICE is hereby given that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Impounding Ordinance, 1872, I have established a Pound known as Tokomairiro Pound, situate at Section 88, Block 10, Tokomairiro District, in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, and that I have appointed
MR. JAMES GOODALL,
of Milton, in the said Province, settler, to be Keeper of the said Pound.

CLOSING ROADS.
NOTICE is hereby given that objections having been lodged with me against the shutting up of certain road lines included in the Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1875, situate in the Road Districts of Makerewa, Otepopo, Peninsula, Shotover, Waipori, and Waitahuna East, a special meeting of the Executive Council will be held in the Government Buildings, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 17th day of February, at noon, for the purpose of deciding the said objections, when parties interested are invited to attend.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS, by section 3 of the “Moeraki Harbour Board Ordinance, 1875,” it is provided that the Superintendent of Otago, shall by, and with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, appoint the members of the Moeraki Harbour Board by proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, acting by, and with the consent and advice of my Executive Council, do hereby, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Ordinance, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, proclaim and appoint the following gentlemen to be members of the Moeraki Harbour Board namely:—

TO ARCHIBALD McLAUGHLIN AND WIFE.
WHEREAS by Section 11 of the “Prisons Act, 1873,” it is provided that from time to time as occasion may require a Gaoler and a Matron shall be appointed to every prison by the Superintendent of the Province within which the same is; and whereas it is expedient to appoint a Gaoler and a Matron for the Lawrence Gaol, vice Elijah Titchener and wife, resigned: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and in accordance with the advice of my Executive Council, appoint Archibald McLaughlin and his wife to be Gaoler and Matron respectively of the Lawrence Gaol.
Given under my hand this twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

NOTICE is hereby given that permission has been given to Thomas Escott to withdraw his application for a lease of land for Gold Mining purposes at Bendigo, and the land is open for occupation by holders of miners’ rights.
