by the said Otago Harbour Board on the seventh day
of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
five, to wit:—

ALL Rules and Regulations previously made for the
management of Jetties and Wharves within the
limits of the Port of Dunedin or Harbour of Otago, shall
cease and determine, and in lieu thereof the rules and
regulations set out in the schedule hereto shall be made,
ordained, and appointed for all wharves within the Port
of Dunedin other than the Railway Wharves at Port
Chalmers.

SCHEDULE.

I. The landing steps at all jetties shall be open to the
public, and no charge shall be made for watermen's boats
plying to and from the said landing places.

II. Fishermen's boats shall pay twenty shillings per
annum for use of landing stage provided for them.

III. There shall be paid jetty dues at the following
rates, viz:—

Stock.—Horses, 1s 6d each. Cattle, 1s each. Sheep,
1½d each. Pigs, 2d each.

Storage.—Any produce, goods, or other cargo (with
the exception of timber), occupying the
wharves or wharf-sheds for a longer
period than three days, shall pay a charge
of 5s per ton per week, or for any part of
a week.

Timber.—For the removal of cargoes of timber, the
following periods of time respectively
shall be allowed after the discharge of
the vessel, without any charge:—

Cargoes of 10,000 feet and under, 24 hours
,, 20,000 ,, ,, 48 ,,
,, 40,000 ,, ,, 96 ,,
,, over 40,000 ,, ,, 144 ,,

In default of any cargo or part of a cargo or
timber not being removed within the time
specified, the original consignee or consi-
nees of any such cargo of timber, shall be
liable to pay a charge of £2 per day, for
every day or part of a day, such timber
or any portion thereof may remain in
occupation of any Wharf or Jetty.

Stone.—Except by special authority no stone to
allowed to be landed on the Wharves,
but must be taken from the ship's slings.

Berthage.—Every vessel (sailing or steam) trading
within the Port of Dunedin shall pay the
rates respectively as follows:—

Vessels 10 tons register and under, 10s per quarter
,, 25 ,, ,, 20s ,,
,, 50 ,, ,, 35s ,,
,, 100 ,, ,, 65s ,,

Every sailing vessel trading beyond the
Port of Dunedin shall pay one farthing
per ton, nett register, per day, or part of
a day.

Every steam vessel, trading beyond the
Port of Dunedin, shall pay one half-penny
per ton, nett register, per day or part of a
day.

IV. The tonnage of all goods and cargoes shall be
taken as entered through the Customs, unless any error
therein can be satisfactorily proved.

The above Bye-law and Schedule was duly passed
at a meeting of the Otago Harbour Board
held at Dunedin on the seventh day of Decem-
ber one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
five, and was signed and sealed with the seal
of the said Otago Harbour Board by the Chair-
man of the said Board at the said meeting in
the presence and by direction of the said
Harbour Board.

To the Ratepayers in the Portobello Road District.

THE Road Rates for the current year being now due,
the Collector will be in attendance at the following
places for the convenience of ratepayers:—

Sandymount Subdivision, on Monday, the 27th
December, at Mr Peter Carmichael's, from
9 to 10 a.m.; Mr Archibald M'Kay's, from
11 to 12; Mr Joseph Anderson's, from 1 to
2 p.m.; Mr George Boyle's, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Broadbay Subdivision, on Tuesday, the 28th
December, at Mr William Allan's, Portobello
Road, from 9 to 10 a.m.; Mr William Ander-
son's, Broadbay, from 11 to 12; Mr George
Anderson's, Broadbay, from 1 to 2 p.m.

Portobello Subdivision, every lawful day, at the
house of the undersigned.

WAIPORI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE.—The Rates for the year ending 30th June,
1876, are now due, and payable to the undersigned
at his house, Maugatua.

For the convenience of ratepayers, I shall attend as
under:—

Toll-house, Waihola West—Wednesday, 5th Jan-
uary, 1876, from 10 to 2.

School-house, Lake Waipori—Wednesday, 5th
January, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Woodside Store—Thursday, 6th January, from
6 to 8 p.m.

TUTURAU ROAD DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Tuturau Road
Board intend, at their meeting on Saturday, the
15th January, 1876, to levy a special rate of 3d. in the £,
on all rateable property within the Waikana Subdivision,
for the year ending 30th June, 1876.

A statement of the proposed rate will be open for in-
spection on and after the 1st of January, 1876, at the
store of Messrs M'Gibbon and Sons, Mataura.

Objections to the rate must be lodged, in writing, with
the undersigned, within forty days from the date of this
notice.

and dispose of objections to the valuation or assessment
for the year ending June, 1876

GREY ROAD DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Grey Road Board
at its meeting on December 6, 1875, made a rate of
1s. in the £, on all rateable property within the Otakia
Subdivision of the above District, payable on the 15th
January, 1876. The rate book lies for inspection at
Greytown Schoolhouse.

Objections, if any, must be lodged with the undersigned
within thirty days from the date of said rate, and a special
meeting of the Board will be held in the Athenæum at
Riccarton, on Thursday, the 5th January, 1876, at 7 p.m.,
to hear and decide on such objections.

SUBURBAN ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS wanted for cutting and embankment on
road leading to Ocean Beach; also, cleaning out
water tables from Hewitt's cutting to Howden's corner.
The work will be shown to intending contractors on Fri-
day, the 24th, at 12 o'clock.
