give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping of such roads or portions of roads, or any of them are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objections they may have to the stopping of such roads, or portions of roads, and to leave such statement addressed to me at my Office, in Dunedin, within sixty days from the first publication hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.

NOTICE.
In the matter of the "Highways Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and of an Order made by the Makarewa Road Board for opening up of roads.
UNDER and by virtue of sections of section 33, of the "Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Friday, the 17th day of December, 1875, at the hour of noon, at the Superintendent's Office, in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the Makarewa Road Board, on the 18th day of August, 1875, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 982, on the 1st day of September, 1875.

NOTICE.
A SUM of £1100 having been voted by the Provincial Council to assist in providing buildings to be used as Athenæums in localities where no such buildings have as yet been erected.
It is hereby notified to those desirous of participating in the vote, that in order to do so it will be necessary to forward a written application, stating the amount collected, and giving a general description of the approximate cost of the building proposed to be erected. The sum voted will be distributed pro rata to the contributors of the district, provided that in no case shall the contribution of the Government exceed the sum of £250 to any building.
Applications to be received at this office on or before the 1st day of March, 1876, after which date no further application for subsidy will be entertained during the current financial year.

Contract No. 1,085:—Supply of Two Tons of Dog-spikes, to be delivered at Breakwater, Oamaru.
Specification may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1,085."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
