roads or portions of roads intended to be stopped up in the Road District specified in the Schedule, have been deposited at the Public School mentioned immediately after the description of the respective roads, or portions of roads, intended to be stopped up in each district: Now, therefore, I, JAMES MACANDREW, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the "Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1875," session No. XXXIV., do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of such roads, or portions of roads, or any of them are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objections they may have to the stopping up of such roads, or portions of roads, and to leave such statement addressed to me at my Office, in Dunedin, within sixty days from the first publication hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Arrowtown, on or before the 20th day of December, 1875.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office at Arrowtown.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 7th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

N O T I C E.
IN the matter of the "Highways Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and of an Order made by the Makarewa Road Board for opening up of roads.
UNDER and by virtue of the provisions of section 33, of the "Highways Boards Empowering Act, 1871," I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Friday, the 17th day of December, 1875, at the hour of noon, at the Superintendent's Office, in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the Makarewa Road Board, on the 18th day of August, 1875, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 982, on the 1st day of September, 1875.

N O T I C E.
A SUM of £1100 having been voted by the Provincial Council to assist in providing buildings to be used as Athenæums in localities where no such buildings have as yet been erected.
It is hereby notified to those desirous of participating in the vote, that in order to do so it will be necessary to forward a written application, stating the amount collected, and giving a general description of the approximate cost of the building proposed to be erected. The sum voted will be distributed pro rata to the contributors of the district, provided that in no case shall the contribution of the Government exceed the sum of £250 to any building.
