PROCLAMATION
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," by the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1875, it is enacted, that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Otago, on the petition of not less than fifty persons, comprising a majority of the householders resident in any township, or any two or more townships, distant not more than two miles from a common centre within the Province, to extend the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," to such township or townships, by such name or incorporation as he shall deem fit, and notwithstanding that such township, or in the case of two townships, either or both of them is or are included in a Road District, with such modifications as to the names and numbers of the members of such proposed Corporation, and the office-bearers thereof, and any other municipal matters and regulations as shall seem to such Superintendent and his Executive Council suitable for the area and population of such Municipality; and, in accordance with such petition or otherwise, shall define the boundaries of the Municipality so created, and declare the number of Wards into which such Municipality may be divided, and define the boundaries of such Wards, respectively, and declare which of the provisions of the said Ordinance shall be applicable to and within the limits of such Municipality: And whereas a petition of not less than fifty persons, comprising a majority of the householders resident in the townships of St. Kilda and Musselburgh, in the said Province of Otago, has been presented to me, James Macandrew, as Superintendent of the said Province, praying that the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865" may be extended to the said townships; Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice of my Executive Council, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare, that from and after the day of the date hereof, the provisions of the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865," specified in the first schedule hereto, shall extend to the said townships of St. Kilda and Musselburgh by and under the name of the Corporation of the town of St. Kilda, and shall be applicable to and within the Municipality hereby created. And I do, with the like advice of my said Executive Council, proclaim and declare that such of the said provisions as are contained in the sections of the said last mentioned Ordinance, specified in the first column of the second schedule hereto, shall extend to the said township, and be applicable to the respective modifications contained herein, and in the second column of the said second schedule hereto.

And I hereby, with the advice of my said Executive Council, proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Municipality hereby created shall be those specified in the third schedule hereto. And I do hereby with the advice of my said Executive Council, declare that the said Municipality hereby created shall be divided into two wards, to be known respectively as Park Ward and Musselburgh Ward, and that the boundaries of the said wards shall be those respectively defined in the fourth schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
The Sections of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," containing the provisions of the said Ordinance, extended to and applicable within the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda, that is to say, Sections numbered 6 to 11 both inclusive; Sections numbered 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26; Sections numbered 29 to 97 both inclusive; Sections numbered 99 to 113 both inclusive; and Sections numbered 116 to 122 respectively.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
Sections of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865," applicable to the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda, with respective modifications set opposite the numbers of the Sections.

NUMBERS OF SECTIONS. MODIFICATIONS.
Section Five The style shall be "The Corporation of the Town of St. Kilda," instead of "The Corporation of the City of Dunedin."
Section Twelve Instead of each the said four several Wards of the City of Dunedin," the following modification: "each of the said two several Wards of the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda."
Section Twenty-eight Instead of the words "City of Dunedin," in this Section the words, "the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda."
Section Ninety-eight Instead of the words "one hundred thousand pounds" in this Section, the words "ten thousand pounds."

THIRD SCHEDULE.
Boundaries of the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda as delineated on the record maps of the said town, deposited in the Lands Registry Office, in Dunedin, in the said Province.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement four hundred and fourteen (414) acres, more or less, comprising the Private Townships of Musselburgh, and St. Kilda, and Forbury Park, being applications numbered (52), fifty-three (53), fifty-four (54), fifty-five (55), fifty-six (56), fifty-seven (57), fifty-eight (58), fifty-nine (59), sixty (60), sixty-one (61), sixty-two (62), sixty-three (63), sixty-four (64), sixty-five (65), sixty-six (66), sixty-seven (67), sixty-eight (68), sixty-nine (69), seventy-nine (79), eighty (80), eighty-one (81), eighty-two (82) eighty-three (83), eighty-four (84), eighty-five (85), and parts of sections numbered respectively fifty (50) and seventy (70), block seven (VII.), Town District, together with section numbered 69, and section (7), and seven (7), block seven (VII), Otago Peninsula District, bounded by a line commencing at the northern angle of the said section numbered 69, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the Anderson's Bay Road, to the north-east boundary of the said section numbered 70, six hundred and fifty (650) links; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundaries of the said sections numbered respectively 80 and 79, nine hundred and sixty-nine (969) links; thence in a south-easterly direction along the northern boundaries of the said sections numbered respectively 79 and 7, three thousand and ninety-five (3095) links to road line, skirting the Sand Hills; thence in a south-westerly direction along that road line, and intersecting the said application numbered 12, eleven thousand nine hundred and sixty (11960) links to the Forbury Road; thence in a north-west and northerly direction along the Forbury Road, two thousand seven hundred and fifty-six (2756) links to the Bay View, or District Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Bay View, or District Road, nine
