Schedules respectively described, that in their opinion
not less than one-third part of the area thereof re-
spectively is land available for agriculture:
And whereas it is expedient that effect should be
given to the said recommendation of the Superin-
tendent and Provincial Council of the Province of
Otago:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority vested in me by the hereinbe-
fore in part recited Act, do hereby proclaim that
each of the eight portions of the waste lands par-
ticularly described in the eight Schedules hereto re-
spectively shall be and the same is hereby constituted
into a hundred under and for the purposes of the
said Act; and that each shall be called or known by
the name set above the description of the said hun-
dred in the eight Schedules hereto respectively.
SCHEDULES.
SCHEDULE No. 1.
Tapanui Hundred.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in
the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estimation
fourteen thousand five hundred (14,500) acres, more
or less, situate in the South-Eastern Pastoral Dis-
trict, being parts of Runs numbered respectively one
hundred and sixty-three (163) and one hundred and
seventy-eight (178) on the map of the said pastoral
district. Bounded by a line commencing at Trig.
Station N, Crookston Survey District, and proceeding
due east, seventeen thousand seven hundred and
thirty-nine (17,739) links, to a point due north of
Trig. Station L; thence due south, thirty-four thou-
sand nine hundred (34,900) links, to the said Station
L; thence by a straight line in a south-westerly
direction, twenty-seven thousand nine hundred and
forty (27,940) links, to a point due east of Trig.
Station T; thence due west nine thousand three
hundred and ninety-six (9,396) links, to the said
Station T; thence due north, forty thousand three
hundred (40,300) links, to the main road on leading
ridge; thence in a north-easterly direction along the
said road line, eighteen thousand five hundred
(18,500) links, to a point due north of Trig. Station
N, Crookston Survey District; thence due South,
three hundred and twenty (320) links, to the said
Station N, the starting point.
SCHEDULE No. 2.
Kyeburn Hundred.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago,
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estima-
tion seventeen thousand (17,000) acres, more or less,
situate in the North-Eastern Pastoral District, being
parts of Runs numbered respectively two hundred
and three (203) and two hundred and six B (206B)
on the map of the said pastoral district. Bounded
by a line commencing at the Kyeburn, and proceeding
due east over Trig. Station G, Kyeburn Survey
District, thirty-five thousand (35,000) links, to a
point due north of Trig. Station C, Swinburn Survey
District; thence due south across the said Station
C, fifty-five thousand (55,000) links, to the main
interior road; thence along the said road line in a
westerly direction, thirty-three thousand three hun-
dred (33,300) links, to the Kyeburn; thence along
the Kyeburn in a northerly direction, seventy thou-
sand (70,000) links, to the starting point.
SCHEDULE No. 3.
Otakaramu Hundred.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estima-
tion nineteen thousand five hundred (19,500) acres,
more or less, situate in the South-Eastern Pastoral
District, being part of Run numbered 131 on the map
of the said pastoral district. Bounded as follows:β
Commencing at the junction of the Waikaka River
with the Mataura River, and proceeding thence in an
easterly direction along the Waikaka River and the
Pukerau Creek, ninety-eight thousand four hundred
(98,407) links; thence in a southerly direction along
the Pukerau Creek, twenty-eight thousand one hun-
dred (28,100) links, to the northern boundary of
Block numbered IX, Waikaka Survey District;
thence due west ten thousand (10,000) links, to the
eastern boundary of Block numbered V; thence due
south, twenty-six thousand three hundred (26,300)
links, along the eastern boundaries of Blocks num-
bered respectively V and VIII; thence due west
along the northern boundaries of Sections numbered
respectively 16 and 6, Block VIII, seven thousand
seven hundred (7,700) links, to the north branch of
the Otakaramu Stream; thence in a westerly direc-
tion, fifty-two thousand eight hundred (52,800) links,
along the said stream to its junction with the
Mataura River; thence in a northerly direction
along the Mataura River to the mouth of the Wai-
kaka River, twenty-one thousand four hundred
(21,400) links.
SCHEDULE No. 4.
Landslip Hill Hundred.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in
the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estima-
tion seventeen thousand five hundred (17,500) acres,
more or less, situate in the South-Eastern Pastoral
District, being parts of Runs numbered respectively
167A and 167B and 131 on the map of the said
pastoral district. Bounded by a line commencing at
the north-western corner of Block numbered III,
Waikaka Survey District, and proceeding due east,
fifty-two thousand four hundred (52,400) links, to
the north-eastern corner of Block numbered IX,
Waipehee Survey District; thence in a southerly
direction twenty-four thousand (24,000) links, to
the north-eastern corner of Block numbered X,
Waipehee Survey District; thence due west along
the northern boundary of the said Block X, sixteen
thousand one hundred (16,100) links; thence due
South, eleven thousand (11,000) links, to Run num-
bered 131; thence in a south-easterly direction along
the north-eastern boundary of the said Run numbered
131, to the Waipahee River, eight thousand six
hundred (8,600) links; thence in a southerly direc-
tion along the Waipahee River, ten thousand eight
hundred (10,800) links, to a point due east of Trig.
Station U; thence due west, thirty thousand six
hundred (30,600) links, to the Pukerau Creek; thence
in a northerly direction along the said creek, twenty-
eight thousand one hundred (28,100) links; thence
in a westerly direction along the said creek, twenty-
three thousand five hundred (23,500) links, to the
western boundary of Block numbered VI., Waikaka
Survey District; thence due north, twenty-seven
thousand four hundred (27,400) links, to the starting
point.
SCHEDULE No. 5.
South Glenkenich Hundred.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago,
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by esti-
mation fourteen thousand five hundred (14,500)
acres, more or less, situate in the South-Eastern
Pastoral District, being parts of Runs numbered
respectively 167A, 167B, and 168 on the map of the
