NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT

RATE-PAYERS are hereby Notified that a General Rate of 1s. in the £ for the year ending June 1876, was made on the 18th August, 1875, over each Subdivision, including the following Townships:—Rothesay, St. Leonards, Opoho, Ravensbourne, Roseneath, Maybank, Woodhaugh, Catton, Killarney, Normanby, Duddingstone and Opoho extension.

The Rate is payable on the 20th September, 1875.

NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.

CONTRACTORS are invited to tender for the following works:—

No. 1.—80 yards of 2½ inch Road Metal for Sawyer's Bay; the specification to be seen at Mr Menzie's Store, Sawyer's Bay.

" 2.—50 yards of 2½ inch Road Metal, broken and spread, on the Belt Road, Signal Hill.

" 3.—190 yards of 2½ inch Road Metal for Pine Hill.

" 4.—200 yards of 2½ inch Road Metal for Pine Hill.

" 5.—300 yards of 5 inch spalls for Pine Hill.

All the above to be of the best blue stone; and specifications for Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, at the Cattle Market Hotel, North-East Valley. Tenders to be numbered as above, and left at School House, North-East Valley, on or before the 18th September, at 2 p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted by the Board.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court, for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business, will be holden at the Supreme Court House, at Dunedin, on Monday, the 4th day of October next, at the hour of 10 o'clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

A DARK BAY Filly, rising five years, unbroken, well bred, with a white snip on the nose, branded LG near shoulder. Any person delivering the same to Mr. John Hamill, Woodlands, will receive £2 reward, or £1 will be paid to any one giving such information as will lead to its recovery.

NOTICE.

THE Dark Bay Mare (brand not intelligible) running on sections 9 and 12, Oteramika Hundred, during the last two years and a-half, also one bay colt, not branded, if not claimed within two months from this date will be sold to defray expenses.

NOTICE TO FENCE.

To Mr Samuel Shaw, occupier, or to whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that I desire the boundary or separating fence between section 61 and 1 of 40, block V., East Taieri District, be made on or before the 23rd day of November, 1875, and that such fence shall be a six wire fence.

TAKE NOTICE that I desire that the boundary fence between the above mentioned sections, and sections 3, 12 and 13, in the same block and District, be erected immediately, said fence to consist of 4 posts to the chain, 3 wires, and sod bank 2½ feet high.

Regulations for the Nomination of Immigrants.

NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this 31st day of August, 1875.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under and by virtue of the powers and authorities vested in him for that purpose by "The Immigration and Public Works Act, 1870," and "The Immigration and Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1871," the Governor did, on or about the 15th day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, make certain Regulations for the introduction of immigrants from Europe into the Colony of New Zealand on the nomination of persons resident therein: and whereas the said first-mentioned Act it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time make Regulations for the conduct of immigration to New Zealand, and for the nomination of immigrants by persons residing therein, as in the said Act mentioned, and no action shall be taken upon any such Regulation until the same has been laid before Parliament: and whereas by "The Immigration and Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1871," so much of the 40th section of the said first-mentioned Act as provides that no action is to be taken under the Regulations made under the said section until such
