- Double dues will be charged for the day of
docking. - The Dock dues will include and cover the cost of
pumping, shoreing, wedges and blocking, and the cost
of all labor connected with opening and closing the Dock,
and all incidental labor connected with the actual opera-
tion of docking a vessel. - The Board will not undertake the repairs of a
vessel; and all parties availing themselves of the use of
the Dock, will be required to make their own arrange-
ments for this service, and provide all necessary labor and
material for the same. - The Board will not hold themselves responsible for
any accident occurring to a vessel whilst docking, un-
docking, or in dock. - The officers, crews, and workmen of any vessel,
whilst in dock, will be required strictly to adhere to the
regulations of the establishment. - The Captain, Master, or Pilot of a vessel, after
making fast to any buoy or bollard off the mouth of the
dock, for the purpose of entering, will then henceforth be re-
quired to attend to the directions of the officer of the
dock-yard, superintending the docking or undocking of
the vessel. - Applications for the use of the dock or machinery
will be registered in order of their receipt, but the Board
reserves to itself the right to determine the order of
priority in special cases, such as men of war, or war
steamers. - Vessels registered, and not arriving at the dock at
at the appointed time, to enter, will be liable to the for-
feiting of their turn on the register, and will also be held
responsible for any expenditure that may have been in-
curred with a view to docking them. - Vessels will be admitted into the dock on the ap-
plication of the owner or master, who will be held respon-
sible for the payment of all dues and charges. - No vessel will be permitted to enter the dock with
gunpowder or combustible matter on board.
Any person guilty of committing a breach of any of the
above Bye-laws will be liable to a penalty not exceeding
the sum of fifty pounds for every such breach.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold
Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made
under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment
Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases
for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicants
for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicants
for the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be
valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged
with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 1st day
of October, 1875.
Copy of the application made, and plaus annexed, may
be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 21st day
of September one thousand eight hundred and

OF certain lands in the Province of Otago having been
reserved as endowments for educational institutions
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have,
under and by virtue of section 160 of the "Otago
Waste Lands Act, 1872," recommended that the lands
hereinafter described should be set apart and reserved
as endowments for educational institutions: And it is ex-
pedient that the said lands should be reserved for that
purpose: Now, therefore, I, George Turnbull, Deputy-
Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in
this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have
made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described for
endowments for educational institutions: (that is to say)-
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, con-
taining by estimation two hundred and eight thousand
(208,000) acres, more or less, situate in the south-eastern
Pastoral District, being Runs numbered respectively 193,
194, 202, 254a, 326, 327, and part of run numbered 175b,
on the map of the said District, commencing at a point on
the Mataura River, due west from East Dome, thence in
a line running due east over East Dome to Gow's burn,
thence by Gow's burn to its junction with the Waikaia
River, thence by the eastern boundary of the Waikaia
Pastoral District, being a line due south to
the said Trig. station K., Wendon District, thence to the
nearest point of the Parasol Creek, thence by that said
creek to its junction with the Pomahaka River, thence by
the Pomahaka River to the Leithen burn, thence by the
Leithen burn to the western boundary of block VII.,
Greenvale Survey District, to the east branch of the Wai-
kaka Stream, thence by the east branch of the Wai-
kaka Stream to the south boundary of Greenvale Survey
District, which is a line running due east and west,
through the Trig. station on the Pyramid Hill, thence by
the said line due west over the Pyramid Hill to the Ma-
taura River, thence by the said Matura River to the
starting point: Excepting from the above description all
those areas as follows:--the area known as the
Waikaia Commonage, containing by admeasurement seven
thousand (7000) acres, more or less; the area known as
block I, Wendon Survey District, containing by ad-
measurement three thousand five hundred (3500) acres, more
or less; the area known as section 1, Wendon Survey
District (Acton's), containing by admeasurement fifty-
(50) acres; also the following pre-emptive rights on run
numbered 175b :--pre-emptive right marked A, contain-
ing by admeasurement eleven (11) acres two (2) roods;
pre-emptive right marked B; also marked section 1,
block XI, Greenvale District, containing by admeasure-
ment ninety-two (92) acres; also sections 2 and 3 of said
block XI, Greenvale District, containing by admeasure-
ment five hundred and fifteen (547) acres one (1)
rood and twelve (12) poles; on run numbered 193 pre-
emptive right marked A, containing by admeasurement
in all six hundred and forty (640) acres; on run 194 pre-
emptive right marked A, containing by admeasurement
ninety-two (92) acres; pre-emptive right marked E, con-
taining by admeasurement eleven (11) acres two (2)
roods, and pre-emptive right marked F, containing by admeasure-
ment six hundred and forty (640) acres; pre-emptive
right marked G, containing by admeasurement eleven (11)
acres two (2) acres; pre-emptive right marked B, con-
taining by admeasurement eleven (11) acres two (2)
roods, and pre-emptive right marked C, containing by ad-
measurement six hundred and forty (640) acres in all;
on run numbered 254b pre-emptive right, containing by
admeasurement six hundred and forty (640) acres; on
run 326, pre-emptive right marked A, containing by ad-
measurement ninety-two (92) acres; pre-emptive right
marked B, containing by admeasurement eleven (11)
acres two (2) roods, and block VIII, Waikaia District,
containing by estimation one thousand eight hundred and
forty (1840) acres; on run 327, pre-emptive right, con-
taining by admeasurement ninety (90) acres, and also
pre-emptive right, containing by admeasurement six hun-
dred and forty (640) acres, the above
sections, blocks, and pre-emptive rights are delineated on
the plans in the Provincial Survey Office at Dune-
din.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, con-
taining by estimation fifty-eight thousand five hundred
(58,500) acres, more or less, situate in the south-eastern
Pastoral District, being Runs numbered respectively 74,
