delegated by the Governor in Council to have, hold,
and exercise the said powers within the said Province
of Otago: And whereas the said lands hereinafter
described are Crown Lands subject to be dealt with
under the provisions of the said 16th section of the
"Gold Fields Act 1866," and the said lands are now,
or lately were, held in occupation under a lease for
Depasturing purposes, issued under the "Otago
Waste Lands Act, 1866:" And whereas the Exe-
cutive Government of the Province of Otago have
determined to cancel the said lease as to so much
and such part of the lands held under the same as
are comprised within the area hereinafter described

Now, therefore, I, George Turnbull, Esquire, De-
puty-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Province and by virtue and in exercise of
the powers delegated to the said Excellency
the Governor of New Zealand in Council, under the
authority of the "Gold Field Act Amendment
Act 1867," and of any and every other power in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby cancel
the said lease, in so far as the lands comprised with-
in the area hereinafter described are affected by the
said lease, but no further or otherwise (that is to
say)—

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago,
Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasur-
ment two hundred (200) acres two (2) roods and
twenty-four (24) poles, more or less, situate in the
Otepopo District, being section numbered 5, Block
XV, on the map of the said District, bounded as
follows:—Commencing at the most southerly corner
peg of said section, thence north-easterly, by a line
bearing 54 degrees 1 minute, three thousand and
eight and six-tenths (3008 6-10) links, thence north-
westerly by a line bearing 324 degrees 15 minute,
nine thousand seven hundred and seventy-eight and
nine-tenths (9778 9-10) links, thence north-westerly
by a line bearing 338 degrees 45 minutes, nine
hundred and seventy-nine (979) links, thence by a
line south-westerly, bearing 54 degrees 1 minute,
nine hundred and seventeen and five-tenths (917 5-10)
links, thence south-easterly by a line bearing 338
degrees 45 minutes, nine hundred and seventy-nine
(979) links, thence south-easterly by a line bearing
326 degrees 5 minutes 30 seconds, ten thousand
(10,000) links to the starting point, being peg num-
bered 6 on the plan of the said section.

Given under my hand and issued under the
Public Seal of the Province of Otago, in
presence of David Mackellar and James
Green, Esquires, members of the
Executive Council of the said Province,
being also members of the Provincial
Council thereof, this 7th day of Sep-
tember, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by section 2, of the "Salmon and
Trout Act, 1867," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor from time to time, as may
become necessary, to make regulations as to any
matter or thing, which in any matter relates to the
management and protection of salmon and trout in

this Colony, or to the fishing for or taking trout or
salmon: And whereas, the powers vested in the
Governor under the said Act have been delegated to
James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province
of Otago.

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superinten-
dent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue
of the power and authority vested in me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare as follows:
that is to say—

1st. The period from 15th September, 1875, to
15th March, 1876, shall be an open season for brown
trout fishing by rod and line only, in the following
streams, viz.: Kakanui River, Island Stream, Shag
River, Waikeuaiti River, Waitati River, Silver Stream,
Fulton's Creek, Boat Harbor Creek, Lee Stream,
and Deep Stream.

2nd. The ensuing period from 1st October to 31st
December, 1875, shall be an open season for brown
trout fishing by rod and line only, in the Water-of-
Leith.

3rd. No person shall be allowed to fish for brown
trout by rod and line as aforesaid without first ob-
taining a license so to do under the hand of the
Provincial Treasurer of Otago, and for every such
license there shall be paid the sum of £1.

Given under my hand at Wellington on the 18th,
and issued under the public seal of the Province
of Otago, at Dunedin, on the 20th days of Sep-
tember, 1875.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin,
this seventeenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-five.
Present:
His Honor George Turnbull, Deputy-Super-
intendent,
John Davie, Esquire, and
James Green, Esquire.

WHEREAS by section 5 of "The Otago Dock Trust
Ordinance, 1865, Repeal Ordinance, 1874," it is
provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent
from time to time, to make, alter, and revoke all such Bye-
laws as may appear to him to be necessary for the due
and proper management and working of the Dock con-
structed by the Otago Dock Board, and to affix any
penalty not exceeding the sum of fifty pounds (£50), to
the breach of any such Bye-law, and the Superintendent
may in and by such Bye-law fix and determine the
amount of dues to be charged on all ships and vessels
making use of the said Dock: Now therefore, His
Honor the Deputy-Superintendent, in pursuance of the
provisions of the said Ordinance, and in exercise of the
powers and authority enabling him in that behalf and by
and with the advice and consent of his Executive Council,
doth hereby revoke the Bye-laws passed by the Otago
Dock Board, on the twenty-seventh day of October, 1871,
for regulating the use of the Otago Graving Dock, at
Port Chalmers, and order that the following shall be Bye-
laws for the due and proper management and working
of the said Dock: that is to say—

  1. All vessels using the Otago Graving Dock will be
    liable to Dock dues according to the following scale—
    per register ton
    per diem.
    Vessels of 1000 tons and upwards... 6d
    " " 1000 tons... 6 1/2d
    " 900 " " 900... 6 1/2d
    " 800 " " 800... 6 3/4d
    " 700 " " 700... 7d
    " 600 " " 600... 7 1/4d
    " 500 " " 500... 7 1/2d
    " 400 " " 400... 7 3/4d
    " 300 " " 300... 8d
