"Real Estate Descent Act, 1874," to come into
operation.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Real Estate Descent Act,
1874," it is enacted that the said Act shall
come into operation from a day to be fixed by the
Governor by Proclamation in the Government
Gazette, and such day to be not less than three
months from the day upon which notice of Her
Majesty's approval of the same shall be published in
the said Gazette.
And whereas the said Act, reserved for the expres-
sion of Her Majesty's pleasure thereon, has been
submitted to Her Majesty in Council, and Her
Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same, and
such assent has been signified by a Proclamation
bearing date the twenty-eighth day of April last and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth
day of May last;
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me as aforesaid, do
hereby fix and declare the first day of October next
to be the day on and from which "The Real Estate
Descent Act, 1874," shall come into operation within
the Colony of New Zealand.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
county of York, in the Peerage of
Great Britain, and Baron Mul-
grave of New Ross, in the county of
Wexford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a
Member of Her Majesty's Most Honor-
able Privy Council; Knight Commander
of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same; and issued under the Seal of
the said Colony, at the Government
House at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
five.

Fixing Sittings of District Court, Otago Gold Fields
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in this behalf enabling me, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
fix and appoint that sittings of the District Court of
the Otago Gold Fields shall be held as follows:—
In the Resident Magistrate's Court House at
Cromwell on Wednesday, the sixth day of
October, and Wednesday, the eighth day of
December next.
Provided that in case either of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the
Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the
first day thereafter after not being a holiday.
Issued this nineteenth day of August, 1875.
