PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by section 2 of the "Salmon and Trout Act, 1867," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time as may become necessary to make such regulations as to the Governor seems expedient for prohibiting the use of nets or other engines, instruments, or devices for taking fish in any river or stream in which young salmon, salmon-fry or spawn is placed or deposited; and whereas, the powers vested in the Governor by the said Act have been delegated to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago and his Executive Council.
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, under and by virtue of the said power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, proclaim and declare that any person using any net, engine, instrument, or device for taking fish in the River Aparima or its estuary, or within a distance of two miles along the sea coast on either side of the mouth of the said river, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding Β£100; and all nets or other engines, instruments or devices whatsoever, used contrary to this regulation shall be seized, forfeited, destroyed or removed as the case may require.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty second day of July, 1875.

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by section 10 of the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1874," it is provided that if from any cause whatever the persons entitled to vote at any election for any district or any subdivision of any district shall fail or neglect to hold an election of members of the District Board of such district on the day appointed for that purpose by the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," it shall be lawful for the Superintendent by proclamation in the Government Gazette to appoint a day for the holding of such election.
Now, therefore, I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Ordinance and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint Tuesday, the seventh day of September next to be the day for holding the election of members of the Crichton Road Board for Stoney Creek sub-division of the Crichton Road District.
Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin this thirty-first day of August, 1875.
