TENDER FOR DISTRICT GAOLS.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Lands and Works, Dunedin, until noon of Monday, 13th September, 1875, for the erection of Gaols (in concrete) at Naseby, Clyde, and Arrowtown.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Inspector of Buildings, Dunedin, and Police Camps, Naseby, Clyde, and Arrowtown, on and after the 28th inst.

Tenders to be indorsed, "Tender for Gaol at Clyde," "Naseby," or "Arrowtown," as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 31st August, for

Contract No. 1042.—Formation of 104 lineal chains of road through Block 8, Wyndham District, near Richardson's, including the construction of two bridges over the Titiroa Creek, on road "Mataura Bridge to Toetoes."

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Mataura Bridge.

Tenders to be indorsed, "Tender for Contract No. 1043."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS FOR WORKS.

TENDERS for the construction of the undermentioned Railway, and other works, will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, the 7th September:—

1st Contract, No. 1044, Earthworks, Bridges, Culverts, and Permanent Way of Railway from Palmerston to Waynes.

2nd Contract, No. 1045, Mosgiel to Outram Railway, Earthworks and Fencing.

3rd Contract, No. 1046, do., do., Permanent Way.

4th " 1047, do., do., Bridges and Culverts.

5th " 1048, do., do., Taieri Bridge.

6th " 1049, Bridge over Clutha River at Inch Clutha.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, on and after the 21st instant, at the Provincial Engineer's Office, Dunedin.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Objections must be made in writing, and lodged on or before noon, on Monday the 30th of August current, at the Land Office, Dunedin, when and where the above applications will be decided. The ballot of those applications which are covered by more than one application will take place on Tuesday, at Noon, the 31st of August current.

TUESDAY, 28TH SEPTEMBER, 1875.

Run 413 divided into Runs 413 and 463, that is—Runs 413 and 463 Sunnyside Run, Waiau.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the leases for ten years, of Runs 413, bounded towards the north by the Monowai River, towards the south by the Monowai bush, towards the east by the Waiau River, and towards the west by the Monowai bush; and Run 463, bounded towards the north-west by the Monowai bush, towards the south by the Monowai River, and towards the east by the Waiau River, containing respectively 7800 acres and 6200 acres respectively, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Land Office, Invercargill, on Tuesday, the 28th day of September next, on terms of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," at the upset price, or annual rent of 1d. per acre. The bidder of the highest annual rental in addition to the assessment payable under the 135th clause of the said act, shall be the purchaser. Assessment of three shillings and sixpence for every head of great cattle, or seven pence for every head of small cattle depastured on the Runs, will be charged, but the minimum stock on which assessment will be charged shall not be less than 3000 sheep on Run 413, and 2200 sheep on Run 463, respectively.

Leases will commence on the 26th day of July, 1876 and expire on the 25th day of July 1886, or to determine on 12 months' notice from the Commissioner of Crown Lands to the Lessee to that effect, without liability on the part of the Government or Waste Lands Board for compensation for improvements. The right to take a road 5 chains broad, for stock travelling, is retained by Government. No previous notice of purchasing the lease, to be entitled to exercise a pre-emptive right to purchase land on Run. Improvements, enhancing the value of the Run, made of the lessee, to be paid by the incoming tenant, before obtaining possession. A deposit, of one-tenth of the purchase money, shall be payable on the fall of the hammer, the balance within a month. The annual assessment will be payable on the 1st day of October of each year, excepting the first period from the 26th July to the 1st October, 1876, when the rent will be payable on the 26th day of July of that year.

NOTICE is hereby Given that the leases, for six years 8 months and 5 days of Run 11, situated in the Otepopo Survey District, bounded on the north by the middle branch of the Otepopo River, on the east and south by south branch of same river, on the west by a meridional line produced through a point forty chains due east of Trig L, on Mount Fortune, and Run No. 464, situated in the Otepopo Survey District, bounded on the north by the north branch of the Otepopo River, on the east by the purchased land in blocks, of the Otepopo District, on the south by the middle branch of Otepopo River, and on the west by a meridional line produced through a forty chains due east of Trig L, on Mount Fortune, and containing respectively 6,000 acres and 4,200 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 28th day of September next at noon, in terms of "The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872," at the upset price or rent of one penny per acre. The bidder of the highest annual rental in addition to the assessment payable under the 138th clause of the said Act, shall be the purchaser. Assessment of three shillings and sixpence for every head of great cattle, or seven-pence for every head of small cattle, depastured on the Runs, will be charged, but the minimum stock on which assessment will be charged, shall not be less than
