the 1st October, 1875, at noon, at the upset price of £5
per section, with valuations for improvements to the ex-
tent of £150 on each.

RUN 461.—1ST OCTOBER, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Lease for ten years
of Run 461, containing 2000 acres, will be offered
for Sale by Public Auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde,
on the 1st day of October next, at noon, in terms of the
"Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and especially the
144th clause of that Act, at the upset price or premium of
a half-penny per acre. Rental to be an assessment of 3s.
6d. for every head of great cattle, or 7d. for every head
of small cattle, on the number to be hereafter deter-
mined by an assessor, to be appointed by the Waste
Land Board, of the stock-carrying capacities of the Run.
The Lease to commence on the 1st day of October, 1875.
The deposit of one-tenth of the purchase money shall be
payable at the fall of the hammer, the balance within
a month from date of sale.

been appointed the time for receiving the above applica-
tion (if unopposed), and for notifying the objections, if
any, that may have been lodged.

MOERAKI HUNDRED BYE-LAWS FOR 1875.

  1. One head of great cattle to be allowed for every
    twenty (20) acres owned or occupied; no small
    cattle to be depastured on the Hundred.
  2. Residents in the township of Hampden, who have
    taken out licenses, to be allowed to depasture one
    head of great cattle for every acre, or part of an
    acre of township land owned or occupied. No cattle
    or sheep being driven from one district to another,
    will be allowed to depasture on the unenclosed lands
    of the township of Hampden.
  3. Whenever it shall appear to the Wardens, or a ma-
    jority of them, that any beast of a dangerous or
    vicious character or from any other cause, they may
    deem it advisable to prohibit any such beast from
    depasturing on the Hundred, and no entire animal
    over the age of six months, excepting horses, and no
    entire horses over the age of twelve months, shall be
    depastured on the Hundred without the consent, in
    writing, of the wardens or a majority of them.
  4. Any person disturbing, driving, or harassing cattle
    depastured within the boundaries of the Hundred
    without a written authority from one or more of the
    Wardens.
    In the event of its being necessary to drive any
    cattle belonging to any other person, a greater
    distance than half a mile, the person so driving
    such cattle must take them to the nearest available
    stock-yard, and there separate his own from those
    of other persons, and return the latter to the
    Hundreds.
  5. Any person or persons offending against the above
    Bye-Laws shall be liable to a penalty of any sum
    not exceeding five pounds (£5).
  6. All or any of the acts authorised by these Bye-Laws
    to be done by a Warden or Wardens, may be done
    by any Ranger or other person duly appointed by
    them, or authorised in their behalf.
