NOTICE.

Of certain lands in the Province of Otago, having been set apart as sites for Quarries.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of section 16 of the "Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be set apart as sites for Quarries, and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now, therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands herein-after described as sites for Quarries, (that is to say)—

All that piece or parcel of land, containing 2 acres being section 231, in the Hokonui District, bounded on the east by a public road 400 links, on the north by section 25, 500 links, on the west by section 25, 400 links, and on the south by section 25, 500 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing 2 acres being section 252 in the Hokonui District, bounded on the north-east, by a public road 400 links, on the north-west by section 92, 500 links, on the south-west by section 92, 400 links, and on the south-east by section 92, 500 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing two acres being section 233 in the Hokonui District, bounded on the north-east by section 133, 400 links, and a public road 100 links, on the north-west by section 133, 400 links, on the south-west by section 133, 500 links, and on the south-east by section 133, 400 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing 2 acres being section 234, in the Hokonui District, bounded on the south-east by a public road, 400 links, on the north-east by section 91, 500 links, on the north-west by section 91, 400 links, and on the south-west by section 91, 500 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing 4 acres, being section 235, in the Hokonui District, bounded on the south-east by a public road, 400 links; on the north-east by section 50, 1000 links; on the north-west by section 50, 400 links; and on the south-west by section 50, 1000 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing 2 acres, being section 98, in the Taringatura District, bounded on the west by a public road, 400 links; on the south by section 83, 500 links; on the east by section 83, 400 links; and on the north by section 83, 500 links.

Of certain lands at Longwood, in the Province of Otago, having been set apart as a Reserve for a public Cemetery.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago, have under and by virtue of Section 16 of the "Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for a public Cemetery, and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose; Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands herein-after described a Reserve for a public Cemetery: (that is to say)—

Section 2, Longwood District, containing one acre.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the province o Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 2nd day of July, 1875.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office, at Queenstown.

Given under my hand at Dunedin, this 15th day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.

Andrew Southberg, on behalf of the Florence Nightingale Company, for two acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at East side of M'Farlane's mining lease, Old Man Creek.

Of certain lands at Invercargill, in the Province of Otago, having been set apart as a site for a public Market.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of section 62 of the "Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved as a site for a Public Market; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described as a Reserve for a Public Market: (that is to say)—

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement two (2) roods, more or less, situate in the town of Invercargill, being section 2, block LXXVI, bounded towards the north by a road line two hundred and eight links; towards the east by Clyde-street, two hundred and forty links; towards the south by Forth-street, two hundred and eight links; and towards the west, by Crown lands, two hundred and forty links.

Dated at Dunedin, this 10th day of November, 1874.

TO Person shall take, kill or pursue, or use any dog, gun, net, or other engine, for the purpose of taking, killing, or pursuing any game, until such person shall have taken out a license to kill game under this Act, and paid the duty hereby made payable thereon; and if any person shall offend against the provisions of this Section, he shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds.—Section 16 of the "Protection of Animals Act, 1873."

The above License can be obtained at the Provincial Treasury, Dunedin, where above license fees will be received, and license issued.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed
