PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of
the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the "Highway Boards Empowering
Act, 1872," it is provided that when it appears to
the governing body that any work or improvement is for
the special benefit of any particular portion of the High-
way District, the governing body may for defraying the
expenses incurred in doing or executing such work, by
special order distinctly defining such portion and approved
by the Superintendent, make and levy a rate or rates, to
be called a "separate" rate, equally on all rateable pro-
perty situated within such portion: And whereas the
Peninsula Road Board has, in compliance with the pro-
visions of the said Act given public notice in the Provin-
cial Government Gazette, of date, February 24th last of
their intention to levy a separate rate of sixpence in the
Pound, on the net annual value of all rateable property
bordering upon Beach Road, North East Harbour Sub-
division for the purpose of metalling the Beach Road
between Vauxhall and the property of Mr. James
Christie: And whereas no protest was lodged against the
levying of the said separate rate at the meeting of the
said Road Board held on the 6th March last.

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the
power and authority vested in me by the said Act and of
every other power and authority enabling me in this be-
half, do hereby proclaim and appoint that the said Pen-
insula Road Board be authorised to levy a separate rate
of sixpence in the Pound on the net annual value of all
rateable property between sections 12 and 58, both in-
clusive, Upper Harbour East, and sections 10, 14, 15, and
and 16, block VIII; also sections 1 to 7 both included,
block IV, and sections 14, 15, and 16, block V, North
East Harbour Sub-division of Peninsula Road District.

Given under my hand and issued under the public
seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin,
this eighth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy five.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section 101 of the "Otago Roads
Ordinance, 1871," it is provided that in every dis-
trict divided into sub-divisions the Superintendent shall,
within fifteen days after any sub-division of such district
shall become such sub-division, appoint in and for such
sub-division one place to be the place of polling at all
elections held in and for such sub-division, and may from
time to time afterwards appoint in lieu thereof another
such place within such sub-division.

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the
power and authority vested in me by the said section, and
of every other power and authority enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint the School
House, Warepa, to be the polling place for the Eastern
Sub-division of the "Clutha Road District."

Given under my hand and issued under the public

PROCLAMATION.

dent of the Province of Otago.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superinten-
dent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by section 43 of the "Otago Roads Ordi-
nance, 1871," it is provided that in every district
which has been proclaimed into subdivisions under the
provisions of the said Ordinance, the Superintendent, at
the request of the district board, may proclaim any road
within the boundaries of the district as in this behalf, do
the provisions of the said Ordinance, as a main district
road.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, at the request of the Lindhurst
District Road Board, and by virtue of the power and
authority vested in me by the said section, and of every
other power, and authority enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and appoint the road-line described in
the schedule here-under written, situate in the
Waimumu sub-division of the Lindhurst Road District,
to be a main district road.

SCHEDULE.

All that irregular road line, as delineated on the ac-
companying diagram shaded green, starting from a point
on the Main Hokanui District Road, 6,200 links from
Trig. O I, with dot in centre of O, thence in a north-west
direction, through block IVA, thence through the said
block and section 3A, thence 3,100 links west of Trig. O G,
with dot in centre of O, thence through part of section 6,
thence along the Hedgehope Stream for 11,300 links;
and also through sections 6 and 9, thence by an irregular
line along the south-west boundary of section 16, thence
along the north boundary of sections 14 and 1, thence
through an unencumbered block to the east boundary of
block 17, thence through block 17 and along the south
boundary of sections 19 and 27; all the said blocks and sec-
tions at aforesaid being situate in the Waimumu District, and
thence in a south-west direction to the boundary of the
said Waimumu Sub-division of the Lindhurst Road
District, aforesaid.

Given under my hand and issued under the public
seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin,
this eighth day of June, 1875.

[The following is published for general information.]

NO Person shall take, kill or pursue, or use any dog,
gun, net, or other engine, for the purpose of taking,
killing, or pursuing any Game, until such person shall
have taken out a license to kill game under this Act, and
paid the duty hereby made payable thereon; and if any
person shall offend against the provisions of this Section,
he shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty
pounds.β€”Section 16 of the "Protection of Animals Act,
1873."

The above License can be obtained at the Provincial
Treasury, Dunedin, where above license fees will be re-
ceived, and license issued.
