district divided into subdivisions the Superintendent shall
within fifteen days after any sub-division shall become
such sub-division appoint in and for such sub-division one
place to be the place of polling at all elections held in and
for such sub-division, and may from time to time after-
wards appoint in lieu thereof another such place within
such sub-division."
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago under and by virtue of the
power and authority vested in me by the said section and
of every other power and authority enabling me in that
behalf do hereby proclaim and appoint the office of the
Blueskin Road Board situate on the Port Chalmers Road
at its junction with the road to Mopanui, to be the polling
place for the Purakanui sub-division of the Blueskin
Road District.

seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin, in
the said province this sixth day of April,

NOTICE.
In the matter of the "Highway Boards Empowering Act,
1871," and of an Order made by the South Molyneux
Road Board, for opening up a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that the order made by the
South Molyneux Road Board, on the 5th day of
February, 1875, and published in the Otago Provincial
Government Gazette, No. 949 on the 24th day of February
1875, for opening up a new road through parts of sections
11 and 12, Block II, South Molyneux District, has this day
been confirmed by me.

tary for Lands and Works, until noon of Tuesday,
8th June, for
Contract, No. 1033.—Construction of Stone and tim-
ber Bridge over Waimumu River, on road Ma-
taura Bridge to Invercargill.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads
and Works, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Mataura
Bridge.
Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Tender for
Contract No. 1033."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest
or any tender.

LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
PERSONS desirous of selecting land, either for im-
mediate purchase or for occupation on deferred
payments, or under the Agricultural Lease Regulations,
will, on application to Mr. Short, at the Land Office,
Dunedin, be supplied with all the information they may
require as to what land is open for selection, and
the terms upon which it may be acquired.
Mr. Short will shew maps of the land, and assist pur-
chasers or selectors in making the necessary applications.

applied for permission to withdraw his application
for a mining lease of 16 acres of land in the Lowburn
Flat. The Government have sanctioned the withdrawal,
the land is now open for occupation by holders of miners'
rights, &c.
