PROCLAMATION

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand has delegated to me certain powers under "The Public Health Act, 1872," and has ordered that all the powers, functions, duties, authorities, or acts vested in, conferred on, or authorised or required to be done by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, within the Province of Otago, under the fifty-third section of the said Act, should be exercised, performed, and done by me as Superintendent of Otago: And whereas a ship called the "Timaru" has arrived at the Port of the Bluff, in the said port, and it is alleged that the said ship has had an infectious or contagious disease on board in the course of her voyage from Greenock, in Scotland to the said port of the Bluff: And whereas the said ship has on board certain shipments of salmon ova, and it is expedient that certain orders should be made regarding the said shipment: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the aforesaid powers and authorities vested in me, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby order that the captain, officers, and crew of the said ship have permission to land the said shipment of salmon ova from the said ship Timaru.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this twenty-second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is here-by notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 7th day of May, 1875.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office at Cromwell.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 26th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy five.

SCHEDULE.

Charles Colclough, on behalf of the Lowburn Sluicing and Mining Company, for 16 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at the Lowburn Flat, above Perriam's farm near Cromwell.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
