DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Partnership hitherto existing at Miller’s Flat, Lake Wakapu, between us as Hotelkeepers and Fellmongers, has been DISSOLVED by mutual consent, as and from the first day of October, 1874.

NOTIFICATION is hereby made, that Applications for Leases under the Goldfields Agricultural Loan Regulations, of land in block X., Benger, which is situate on Run No. 200, known as Captain Henderson’s Run, will be received by the Warden of the District, at Roxburgh, on and after Tuesday, the 9th March next. The area open for application is 2500 acres in extent.

Plans may be seen at Roxburgh, or the Land Office, Dunedin.

Also on 2nd January, one white cow, branded like HC.
One strawberry cow, branded like M
One red and white cow, branded like JNC
One red and white steer, branded like R
One strawberry cow, brands like M NA C
One white bull calf, no visible brand
One red bull calf, no visible brand
One heifer calf, no visible brand
One brindled heifer, no visible brand
One red and white heifer, no visible brand

If the above cattle are not claimed before Monday, 1st March, they will be sold at the Glenore Pound at noon.

One chestnut filly, yearling, white face, no visible brand, owner unknown, for trespassing on his paddocks, for which ten shillings driving expenses is claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at Lawrence on the 26th day of February, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 15th day of February, 1875, by Charles Low,

One bay horse, white strip down face, white off hind leg, ringboned in both fore feet, and branded W.B near shoulder, owner unknown, for trespassing on growing crops, for which no damage is claimed, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the public pound at Hayes’ Lake, on Friday, the 12th day of March, 1875, at twelve o’clock noon.

Sheriffs’ Districts Defined.

NORMANBY.

Administrator of the Government.

WHEREAS by “The Sheriffs Act, 1858,” it is enacted that after the passing of the said Act it shall be lawful for the Governor, and for no other person, to appoint fit persons to be Sheriffs within the colony, who shall hold this office during pleasure; and that it shall be lawful for the Governor, and for no other person, to define the districts within which the jurisdiction of the several Sheriffs shall be exercised, and the limits of such districts from time to time to alter as occasion may require:

Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf, do hereby define the districts described and named in the Schedule hereto, to be, on and from the twenty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, Sheriff’s Districts, under the provisions of “The Sheriffs Act, 1858.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

The Sheriff’s District of Otago.

This district comprises the whole of the Province of Otago, excepting that portion contained in the Sheriff’s District of Southland, hereinafter defined, together with the adjacent islands.

The Sheriff’s District of Southland.

This district is bounded towards the North by a right line from the summit of Takerahaka Peak in the Eyre Mountains to the junction of the Windley Creek with the Oreti River, and thence by a right line due west to the Waiau River; towards the west by the Waiau River to the sea; thence towards the south by the sea to the mouth of the Mataura River; and towards the east by the Mataura River to its source, and thence by a right line to the summit of Takerahaka Peak, the commencing point. Together with Centre Islands and other adjacent islands, and Stewart Island and its adjacent islands.
