NOTICE TO SCHOOL COMMITTEES AND SCHOOLMASTERS.

THE following Resolution of the Education Board is published for the information of School Committees and Schoolmasters. The standards referred to are described in the Board's Regulations of September 15, 1874, pages 5 and 6.

School Committees, if they deem it advisable, are at liberty to charge higher rates, but they cannot charge lower rates than those specified.

The services of the teacher or head master of each school will be needed for making out a list of the pupils, and an account of the fees payable by them severally. It is believed that no difficulty will be experienced in collecting the school fees according to the scale fixed by the Board or to such higher rates as may have been fixed by Committees.

The fees for the education of orphan and destitute children will be paid by the Board at the rates specified in the resolution.

To School Committees.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Education Board, in pursuance of the provisions of the “Education Ordinance, 1864,” section 9, has fixed and determined the following minimum rates of fees to be paid by pupils for attendance at the different schools receiving aid from the Board, viz.:—

For Pupils in the 1st or lowest standard, 6s. per quarter.
Do. 2nd standard, 7s. 6d.
Do. 3rd do. 9s.
Do. 4th do. 10s. 6d.
Do. 5th and 6th standard 12s.

School Committees are enjoined to give effect to this.
