GRANTS OF LAND UNDER THE IMMIGRANT’S LAND ACT 1873.
IMMIGRANTS claiming to be entitled to land under the above Act, must within sixty days after their arrival in New Zealand, apply personally to the Immigration Officer at the port or place of arrival, and furnish a statement of their claims to be so entitled, showing when and by what ship they or their family as the case may be arrived, and from what port or place they emigrated and their names and ages, and they are required within sixty days thereafter to furnish such proof of the truth of the statement as shall be required by the Immigration Officer.
No persons are entitled to a free grant of land unless they have obtained from the Agent-General of New Zealand before leaving for the Colony, a certificate in writing that they are suitable Immigrants.

IMPOUNDED, on the 12th day of December, 1874, by William Roxburgh, Greytown,
One white and red bullock, branded HJ on near rump supposed to belong to Joseph Mitchell, for trespassing on growing crop, for which £1 is claimed; and in default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the public Pound at Otakia, on Friday, the 8th day of January, 1875, at 12 o’clock noon.

STRAYED, from East Taieri, a small Draught Gray Mare, short tail. Anyone returning the same to Mr. Fowler, East Taieri, will receive £1 reward. December 21, 1874. 1—3s 6d pd
LOST, a Bay Mare, from Mr. Barr’s, Paddock, Kaikorai, branded W on near shoulder, 2 blazes in face, and white blotch on rump. 30s. reward will be paid to any person returning same to Mr. Barr, Kaikorai, or Mr. Connew, Dunstan. 4—9s 6d pd.
PROVINCIAL Treasury payments will be made on Thursday next, Friday and Saturday being Holidays.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Honor the Superintendent, with the advice of the Executive Council, has been pleased to direct and appoint that, on and after the 1st November, 1874, the following Rates or Tolls shall be charged on the Otago Railways.
Ship goods to be carried according to weights and measurements in Bills of Lading.

Ordinary goods and general merchandise, and all goods not otherwise specified, per ton per mile, 7d.
