proposed alteration of roads, and the owner and occupier of the ground over which the proposed roads are to run having signified his assent thereto, the said Board does hereby, and by virtue of the 33rd section of the "Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and of the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," direct that the proposed alteration of roads shall be executed according to plans and specifications, and that these new roads shall be in lieu of the line which it is herein specified they are intended to supersede.

NOTICE is hereby given that a sitting of the Supreme Court, for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business, will be held at the Supreme Court House, at Dunedin, on Monday the fourth day of January next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

£5000.—SEVEN PER CENT. DEBENTURES.

CROMWELL CORPORATION WATERWORKS LOAN.

Issued under Act of the General Assembly, dated 31st August, 1874.

The Corporation of Cromwell invite tenders to the amount of £2000, bearing interest at 7 per cent. payable half-yearly.

The debentures will be payable in 30 years, and will be dated 8th January, 1875. They will be for £50 each, and the coupons attached for each half year’s interest will be payable at Cromwell or Dunedin at the Bank of New South Wales.

A minimum price will be fixed before tenders are opened.

Tenders in accordance with the annexed form will be received by the Town Clerk, Cromwell, up to 8 p.m. on Friday, the 8th January, 1875, endorsed “Tender for Debentures.”

Payments of 5 per cent. on the amount applied for shall accompany each tender; balance on 22nd January, 1875.

PALMERSTON CORPORATION will receive Tenders until noon on Monday, 28th instant, for the supply of about 1000 yards of Bluestone Metal, broken to 2½ inch gauges; to be placed (not spread) in Tiverton and Ronaldsay streets, under the direction of the Corporation’s foreman.

Five per cent. deposit must accompany each tender, and addressed to the undersigned, and marked “Tender for Metal.” The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
